Hey everyone, how’s your Wednesday going? I wanted to share a masculine birthday card using the Well Said Bundle and the Geared Up Garage stamp set. Masculine cards can be so challenging for many of us and I think it’s because we can’t use bling or flowers, right? Well I actually have some “guy bling” on this card! Here are the measurements for the card:

  • Card base in Smoky Slate cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic Gray cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ and 3″ x 4″ for the inside
  • Geared Up Garage DSP cut at 2″ x 3 1/2″ and 3/4″ x 3″ for the inside

Yes, this is another card made from all scraps. I have to use them up, right? I was starting some cards for my March birthdays when I thought this would be a good one for someone who loves to tinker in the garage or work on cars. I pulled out the DSP first and chose the coordinating colors. I cut out the “happy” first from a strip of Basic Gray and set it aside. Next I stamped the word “birthday” on the top half of the Whisper White layer in Basic Gray ink, then adhered it to the Basic Gray layer. I added the DSP and another strip of Basic Gray. I thought the cardstock strip was better then ribbon since it is a masculine card. Next I adhered the layers to the card base and added the “happy” with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Then I pulled out the container of Classic Garage Metal Elements and added the little wrench with a couple of Mini Glue Dots. The perfect bling for guys!! Then I stamped the inside sentiment which is actually from the Geared Up Garage stamp set, also in Basic Gray ink. I added the strip of DSP to the Whisper White, adhered these to the Basic Gray and all of them to the inside of the card base. I thought it needed just a little more, so I stamped the little nuts in the lower corner.

I love how this turned out. Just a simple card, but I think that is best for masculine cards. That’s the nice thing about Stampin’ Up! products, everything coordinates easily and takes out half the hassle of the design process.
