Hey everyone! I hope your Thursday is going well. I wanted to share a product that will be an early release item starting next month. It’s from the Ornate Gardens Suite that will be in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog that will go live in June. I always look forward to the early releases, gives us something new to play with!! You can see the entire suite of products that will be available April 1st here. Today I am sharing a card created with the Ornate Thanks Bundle.
Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Old Olive cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Early Espresso cut at 4″ x 5″ and die cut with the edge
- Ornate Gardens Specialty DSP cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
I have to say when I saw the pictures of the suite I was very excited. I thought it was a little over the top with all the “ornate” edges, but it was the DSP that caught my attention. Then the more I looked at it, the more I thought that the frames would be perfect for scrapbooking!! So I caved! lol There are two different bundles to the suite, the one I’m using today has the edge dies. The other bundle is the Ornate Style Bundle that has the ornate frames and daisy/floral images in the stamp set.
I first chose which piece of DSP to use, and then chose my cardstocks. I had the Old Olive card base left from another project, so went with that and a scrap of Early Espresso. I trimmed the Early Espresso down and die cut the edge. I love the look of the edge, reminds me of an old border punch I had before I became a demonstrator. I trimmed my DSP down and glued them together. I then chose a piece of the Terracotta Tile coordinating ribbon that comes in the suite. It comes in a two-pack with that and in Old Olive. For my sentiment, I cut a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso. I added that to the card front with dimensionals and then added two of the new Gilded Gems to the edge. These gems are a gorgeous opaque gold.
For the inside, I used a scrap of Whisper White left from another project (see a trend here?!? lol) and stamped both the sentiment and the flowers in Early Espresso. I did stamp off first for the flowers and then glued it down.
I see some beautiful scrap pages in my future with these! So what do you think? Did you know that you too can your hands on these even before the April 1st release? Yep, and with a discount too!
