Hello everyone! Welcome back to my little world. Today we are playing with the May Paper Pumpkin. It coordinates with the Country Woods DSP, so you know I brought some of that and the more of the Country Flowers Bundle. I used that earlier this morning for my take on this week’s CASE-ing Tuesday project. If you missed it, you can see it over on this morning’s blog post here. Were you able to catch my Facebook Live? If no, you can watch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here.

I have to say that for a masculine themed kit, this one was pretty good. And to pair with that beautiful DSP? No brainer! Let’s look at my layout first:

Here are the measurements:

  • Base in Basic White – 12″ x 12″
  • Country Woods DSP – 2 3/4″ x 11″ and 1/2″ x 11″
  • Misty Moonlight cardstock – 8 1/4″ x 11″
  • Photo mats – Basic White 4 1/4″ x 5 3/4″, 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and 5 1/4″ x 7 1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock – sentiment strips at 1/2″
  • Kit layer trimmed for sentiment mats at 3/4″

For my layout I started with a sketch from one of the Close to My Heart sketch guides that I purchased during their close out sales. What a great resource! I hope Stampin’ Up! produces something similar to these as it really makes the creative process so much simpler!! I used the new Keeping Tab punch for the dates on my photos. The two on the left are of my Dad. My dad looks so tired in the the top photo with me and my sister, who wasn’t very old in this photo. The one below that is with his first granddaughter, Melissa. Can’t you see the love between them? Then the one on the right is Larry, my husband with our other two daughters, Corey and Kelly. The title is created with the add-on die and stamped in both Misty Moonlight, the color of the ink spot in this kit, and Early Espresso inks. I also used the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker for my journaling strips and some of the Sparkle Adhesive-backed Gems for my bling. I really like how this layout turned out. Now let’s look at my first alternate card:

Here are the measurments:

  • Kit card base – 5 1/2″ 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Pool Party cardstock – 2 @ 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Kit card base – front and back trimmed to  5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Basic White cardstock – 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ for the inside

I basically followed the instructions included in the kit for the card front, just used the Country Flowers stamp set for the card. I used Early Espresso ink for the sentiments and Pool Party ink, stamped off, for the inside flowers. There wasn’t any bling in the kit, so I pulled out the Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots for this card.

Here’s a look at the inside:

Now let’s look at the second alternate:

Here are the measurements:

  • Kit card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, trim off 2 1/8″ of the front
  • Pool Party cardstock – 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
  • Kit layer – trimmed to 3″ x 4″

This fun-fold is super easy and gives it a little wow factor. The piece that is trimmed from the front gets attached to the inside of the card so that it looks like a normal card when it’s closed. The kit layer is attached to the Pool Party and then attached to the left side of the card front only, thus creating a flap. I sponged on some of the Misty Moonlight ink around the wood-look die cut and added it with dimensionals to the card front. Next I stamped the sentiment from the kit on one of the die cut labels from the kit. The Misty Moonlight strip from the kit is designed to be attached at the base of the label, but I cut it in half, added it to the back of the label to make it look like a longer piece, and then added both to the card front with dimensionals. My bling is more of that gorgeous Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems. LOVE those!!

For the inside I stamped the sentiment from the kit next to the front layer that was added. I love that there was an inside sentiment in this kit and bonus – you could use it for male or female!!
