Hey everyone. I know it’s been pretty quiet over here lately. So much life happening around here that I haven’t been able to much stamping lately. My BFF Tracie at the office retired last week and I put together her retirement party. On top of that, beginning tomorrow we are having new flooring put in all the bedrooms and office, so we have been packing up, purging, and moving everything out of the rooms. For those of you that have any kind of craft space and “collect” crafting tools and accessories, you know the pain!
What a job!!! I know it’ll be worth it to get rid of the carpet. You don’t realize how bad carpeting is until you move everything out. And you don’t realize your age until you move everything out!! lol
So back to Tracie’s party. She’s actually the one who introduced me to Stampin’ Up! about 9 years ago. Amazing how things work out. I worked so hard to make this very important event special for her, not to mention making sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
We (well, now just me lol) work for the Office of Surveys with the Department of Transportation and I wanted to make a card representing us. I decided to create a card using my Cricut and the Everyday Paper Dolls.
Isn’t she a cutie pie??? I just loved the way it turned out using all scraps from my stash, including retiring cardstock from Stampin’ Up!. I created the logos by printing them in different sizes and fussy cutting them. And check out the little earrings!
Here’s a look at the inside, complete with a cone! Even though I was under the gun to make this, I really like how it turned out, especially since she’s moving out of the area.
I’m not sure what it’s going to be like at work without Tracie, but I know it will never be the same. I’m going to miss her like crazy, especially since she’s moving out of the area. But, fortunately I’m not too far behind her. I only have 2 months to go until I retire from state service, then I’m going to be running my Stampin’ Up! business full time. I’m so grateful that I met her, not only for a lifelong friendship, but also that she introduced me to my future business. Who knew what going to one workshop would do? Everyone comes into your life for a reason or a season, and she came into mine for both. I will miss you GF, but I know we will still see each other often! =:)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! Also, please remember to check out the Retiring List over at my Stampin’ Up! online store. There are several items that are no longer available, so get out those wish lists and mark them off.
