Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday evening! How is your week going? I have my monthly birthday card class this Saturday and I wanted to share one of the cards we’ll be making. This is one of those stamp sets that I got early on in the year, but never used it. Luckily it is carrying over, which makes it perfect for this time of year. I also wanted to use it right now since the Bitty Butterfly punch is getting ready to retire. I’m still not over that either.  😉

First I stamped the top half of the fairy with the wings on vellum using our Black Archival ink so that it had time to dry. I then stamped the fairy and colored her dress, hair and wings using our Watercolor Pencils, then used the Blender Pens to finish off the coloring. It’s really easy to color this way when you use single dark strokes following the lines, then pull the color into the object with the Blender Pen. After the ink on the vellum dried I punched out the wings and then highlighted them with the Wink of Stella. Once that was dry I attached them with a mini glue dot to the fairy. I then stamped the fairy dust in Smoky Slate and added some more Wink of Stella. You can’t have a fairy without bling! 🙂

Once she was done, I attached it to some Basic Black cardstock and wrapped some black baker’s twine around it and then attached it to some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I should say that before I attached the glimmer paper, I punched a flower out of the middle of it with the Petite Petals punch, another retiring punch. By punching it in the middle, or as close to the middle as you can, you don’t have to punch from another piece of glimmer paper and it gets covered up with the other panels. I attached the flower with a mini glue dot, then added a rhinestone. I love all the bling on this card!!

This is a typical A2 card, 8 1/2 by 5 1/2, but I cut one inch off the right side of the card and let the fairy panel hang over. Not too dramatic, but I wanted something a little different. I will also say, when you stamp the sentiments, practice on scratch paper first. Because the sentiment stamps are so thin you can wobble when you stamp and cause halos or not stamp the full image. This is what happened with this sentiment, but I corrected it with a black Stampin’ Write Marker.

Like the card? Come to my birthday card class on Saturday to make it. Can’t be here in person? No problem. When you place a $40.00 order or more using Hostess Code 97HGXFU7, I will send you a packet with all the projects prepped, ready to stamp and assemble. Just go here to place your order. And don’t forget about the early release of the Eastern Palace Suite. I will have an exclusive set of projects for all my email subscribers using that suite.
