Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Were you able to catch my Facebook Live this morning making that adorable lady bug card? If not, you can catch the replay here. I think this card turned out soooo cute!!

Here are the measurements for the card:

  • Card base in Lovely Lipstick cardstock cut at 5 1/2″ x 10 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, 4 3/4″, 5 1/4″, 5 3/4″, 6 1/4″
  • Best Dressed DSP cut at 3″ x 4 ” and 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Window Sheet cut at 1/4″ x 3″ and 1/2″ x 2″

I think one of the best tools for this card, besides the trimmer, is our Scoreboard. For me it really helps me see exactly where I’m scoring, but even if you don’t have one, our trimmer will work just fine. To get started, cut and score your card base and then fold on the score lines to create a “w” effect.

This view is actually of the card opened face down. Hope that helps you picture it. You’ll want to add a strip of Tear & Tape to the card underneath the “W” on each side to create the card base. Once you’ve done that and have your other layers trimmed, it’s time to stamp, color and cut out the two images. I stamped my lady bug flower image in Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with my Stampin’ Blends markers. I also cut out 3 of the grass images in Granny Apple Green cardstock. Next I glued the 3″ x 4″ piece of DSP to the Granny Apple Green layer and then both to the card front, centered. I cut out the small rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies and stamped my sentiment. I added it to the front of the card with dimensionals and then added two rhinestones colored with the Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I then glued my larger layer of DSP to the inside upper panel of the card. I wanted this to make the large flower I colored look like it was in a flowers.

Then I stamped the sentiment of the Whisper White layer and the small lady bugs on the lower left and colored them with my Blends and then glued it down on the bottom half of the card.

Next you want to add a strip of Tear & Tape to the inside of that fold so that when we add the Window Sheet strips, you can close it all together.  To attach the flower and the lady bug to the window strips, you’ll add a couple of Mini Glue Dots to the bottom of the back side of each and than attach the 1/2″ x 2″ strip to the flower and the 1/4″ x 3″ to the lady bug. That way the lady bug stands taller then the flower. Add two more Mini Glue Dots to the bottom of the strips and attach to the inside of the card. Remove the Tear & Tape Strip and glue the opening together. Next you’ll want to attach the pieces of grass to the base of the flower and lady bug with more Mini Glue Dots.

See how they pop up when you open the card?
