Hey everyone, happy Wednesday! So here is the second project for my Christmas in July class on Saturday. I wish I could take credit for this, but I cased it from another demo, Sue Vine. I instantly fell in love with this card and knew I had to create it too.
This is created using the new Thoughtful Branches stamp set that we demonstrators can preorder this month and will be available for everyone beginning August 2nd. It is such a cool set that includes matching thinlets. The sentiments in the stamp set are very versatile for every day sentiments, just not Christmas. That’s ok because I used a sentiment from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set.
First I took a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Whisper White and cut an oval out with one of the Layering Ovals to create a mask. Then I used sticky notes to hold it in place to mask another piece of Whisper White the same size. I stamped the bare trees in the background using Soft Sky and then sponged more Soft Sky to create a foggy effect. Then I stamped the Christmas tree in Soft Suede and the leaves and sentiment in Always Artichoke. It’s hard to see it in the photo, but I added some Wink of Stella to the Christmas Tree for a soft shimmer. By stamping and sponging with the mask it gives it a window effect. After I finished stamping I took off the mask and ran it through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. Once that was all done I added a piece of Soft Sky then added it to an Always Artichoke card base. Just love the color combination.
