Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you had a chance to visit the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
isn’t that a cute card? When I was creating mine, I didn’t realize that it is a card created with one of our note cards. Somehow I just missed that information…but that’s okay, that’s why we love casing! It’s all about our take on the sample!!
My card is a regular A2 card, created with an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Pool Party cardstock. I die cut a piece of that gorgeous Glimmer Paper in Evening Evergreen using the large die from the Christmas Pine Cone Die set. This was actually new in last year’s July-December Mini Catalog and is actually the first time I have cut with this particular die. It is very detailed and does take a minute to get out all of the little pieces, but it is very worth the time! I added it to the card base with Multipurpose Glue. Next I cut a piece of the Painted Christmas DSP to the measurements in the sketch and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Seal+ since I was adhering it to the glimmer paper. I trimmed a scrap of Basic White to the size and stamped my sentiment from the Christmas to Remember stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink. As I was adding it to the card front, I thought it just looked too plain. So, I grabbed two of the Textural Element wooden berry stems and colored them with my Dark Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blends Marker and the berries with the Dark Sweet Sorbet marker. I added some of the Multipurpose Tombow Glue to the back of them and added them to the DSP. Once it dried, I added some Wink of Stella to the berries for that added shimmer. Then I added my sentiment strip with a little Stampin’ Seal+ so that it stuck on the wooden elements. Lastly, I sprinkled on some of the Red Rhinestones, cuz you can never have enough bling! 😉
For the inside, I trimmed a scrap of Basic White to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and added a 1/2″ x 5″ strip of that gorgeous glimmer paper at the bottom to tie in the front of the card. I stamped my sentiment in Evening Evergreen and added it to the inside with more Seal.
And the last piece of DSP was used to decorate my envelope. This is by far my favorite way to decorate my envelopes! Use that pretty paper!!!
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. Create it exactly like the sample or change it up; it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – you get to make it your way.
