Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, I am so happy you are here and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

Isn’t that a cute card using the Sale-a-bration Delicate Dahlias stamp set? This past weekend was our team meeting and we played with the Sale-a-bration Peaceful Prints DSP, which was still out on my desk. As I was putting it away, I had this flash of farmhouse in my head and decided to see what I could come up with for today. I know I used this same DSP last week, but I just couldn’t move on until I created a farmhouse style Christmas card. I even tried to put this aside and work with something else, but it just wouldn’t flow. So, stick with what’s going on in your head!! lol

I did end up changing the measurements a bit, so let me give them to you:

  • Basic Black card base cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″
  • Peaceful Prints DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 1 1/2″ x 4″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside
  • Basic Black cut at 1 3/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White cut at 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″

I wanted to showcase not only the plaid, but the snowflakes too, so I pulled out some scraps left over from our class. In fact, all of the pieces for the card, including the card base, are leftover scraps! The plaid that is usind on the card front is the back side of the snowflake and plaid sheet. I tried to use the snowflake side, but the snowflake die uts got lost in the paper, so….I flipped it over and layered on my piece of Basic Black. To bring in the snowflakes, I cut an extra piece of the DSP and glued it on top of the black layer. I then wrapped a piece of the Black and White Gingham Ribbon and tied it in a bow. This is becoming my FAVORITE ribbon!! I then glued the layers to the card front. I added the two snowflakes with dimensionals. Doesn’t the center of the snowflake look like our dimensionals?  🙂  The dimensionals are just a tad smaller then the centers and work perfectly! I then grabbed a scrap strip of Basic White and stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink. I flagged one end and added it to my card front. For my bling, I added some of the Matte Black Dots.

For the inside, I wanted to showoff the snowflake side more, so I used that as my base layer. I cut my Basic White layer smaller so you can see the snowflakes and stamped my sentiment, also from the Peaceful Deer stamp set.

I didn’t have a piece of the DSP large enough to decorate my envelope, so I stamped the star image in black across the flap. I think it turned out pretty cute.

So what do you think? I know I really changed it up from the sample, but there’s that whole no-rules in casing thing going on! lol Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up like I did. And if you aren’t a member of the group, not a problem. Just request to join; we would love to have you come and play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great Tuesday and have a chance to get inky!
