Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Don’t you just love Tuesdays? Have you been to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group to see what we are casing this week? If you haven’t, here’s a look at the sample:
I love that we include sketches now with our samples. It just makes creating so much easier. You basically just have to pick paper, stamps and ink! For my take on this week’s case I chose the Free As A Bird stamp set. I know everyone has been using it since the catalog went live a month ago, but I just got it and was anxious to use it. All my measurements match sketch, so it went together very quickly.
I first stamped the bird in Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with our alcohol markers, the Stampin’ Blends. The thing I liked the best with our Blends is that they come in our Stampin’ Up! colors and there’s only a light and dark version of each. It makes coloring so much easier! I went with the Petal Pink combo for the bird and finished it off with the Light Crumb Cake Blends markers. I colored the beak with the Light Pumpkin Pie marker and used just a little bit of the Light Soft Sea Foam around the bird’s feet. Then I fussy cut him out with our snips. Those paper snips sure make cutting things easy with their pointy little tips. Next I cut out the stitched circle in the Bird Ballad DSP and layered that to a Pearlized Doily. Next I cut two pieces of Sahara Sand cardstock to the sized indicated in the sketch. The smaller one I randomly stamped the leaves and flower images with Sahara Sand ink, then glued them together and then to the card base. I glued down the circles and added the bird with dimensionals. Next I grabbed a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink and trimmed it with my snips to look like the sentiment strips in the sample. I added it to the card front with a dimensionals. You know I had to have some bling so I just sprinkled on a few rhinestones and called it done.
That bird has the sweetest face, and I’m not a bird person. Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. The fun part about casing (copy and share everything) is you can create the card exactly as it’s shown in the picture or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you! If you aren’t a member of the group yet, it’s okay, just request to join. We would love to have you join! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
