Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! How’s your week going? Can you believe we’re better than half way through April!?!? Yikes! This month is flying by! Were you able to catch my Facebook Live this morning creating this week’s project? If not, you can watch the replay on my YouTube Channel here. While you’re there, I would love it if you could give my video a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. Today’s project is a simple fun fold using the Artistically Inked stamp set and Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP.

Here are the measurements for my card:

  • Card base in Shaded Spruce cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 2 1/8″ and 6 3/8″
  • Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 1″ x 12″
  • Brushed Metallics Paper in Gold cut at 3″ x 3″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″

This project was actually one of the projects we created at our Team Gathering this past weekend. I wanted something fun and simple to use up some of the retiring papers I have on hand. After I trimmed the card base, I folded the score lines to create a gatefold card and then added the DSP to the left panel. You don’t want to add adhesive all over the back of the DSP, just to the back of the left side of paper and then attach it to the card base. Next I took the 1″ strip of DSP and wrapped it around the card to create a belly band and secured it with Stampin’ Seal. The card I created in the video is actually a different pattern and I used the same pattern to decorate the flap of the envelope. Once the belly band was secured, I took a piece of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon and wrapped it around the card and tied it in a knot at the far left. I then stamped the sentiment from the set in Shaded Spruce ink and the splotchy image in Magenta Madness ink. This is one of the retiring 2020-2022 In Colors and I’m really going to miss it! I attached this piece to the gold foil layer and then attached it to the belly band with more Seal. The bling is actually Champagne Rhinestones, which I think go really well with the gold.

For the inside layer, I stamped the splotch in stamped off Magenta Madness and the sentiment in Shaded Spruce inks. We can never have enough thank you cards!

Here is a look at the envelope that was created at the gathering so you can decide which one you like better – but you have to watch the video to see the difference.  😉
