Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! I wanted to share a card I created for our monthly team Creative Challenge. This month’s challenge is a bright and cheery thinking of you card. Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Old Olive cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Petal Garden Designer Series Paper cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic Black cardstock cut at 3 5/8″ x 4 3/8″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Before I adhered the DSP to the card base, I wrapped some Basic Black Baker’s Twine around it and tied it in a bow to the right of the layer. I stamped the flower in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with the Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark and Light Old Olive, and Dark and Light Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends. Currently the Blends are not available, but will be in the new Annual Catalog beginning June 1st. There will also be 11 new color combos available as well!!! 🙂 For the sentiment I used the “thinking of you” stamp from the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set. Now the stamp itself is too long for the area on the card, so I masked it with tape, then stamped the “thinking” and then again with the “of you”. Using photopolymer stamps makes it really easy to stamp in small areas as you can see right where you’re stamping. I then adhered the layer to the Basic Black layer and added it to the card front with dimensionals. After I added it, I swiped on some Wink of Stella for some glimmer. Then I realized I had smudged the top left corner, so I added some of the Glitter Enamel Dots. Never mistakes, just opportunities for embellishment!
