Hey everyone! Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. I know many will be making it a really long weekend with the 4th coming up. Not me though.  🙂  But I will be taking some time off next week. We will be going to see my daughter down in Las Vegas for a few days, so it will be a little quiet around here. But today I wanted to share a card using some of the gorgeous DSP that is part of the July Promotion, Buy 3 Get 1 Free. In fact, my Product of the Week is DSP too! Here are the dimensions for my card:

  • Card base in Fresh Fig cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Petal Pink cardstock cut 2 at 4″ x 5 1/4″, one for the inside.
  • Nature’s Poem DSP cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″

Today’s card is created with the Rooted in Nature Bundle. I’m actually on a “using my scraps” bin lately and everything on this card was actually scraps left from other classes. I grabbed the DSP first and went from there. I layered it on the Petal Pink cardstock and pulled out a piece of the Linen Thread. I have this little tool caddy on my desk and the bottom bins hold all my ribbon scraps and the thread was in it. I wrapped it around 3 times and adhered it with a piece of tape, then adhered it all to the card base. I then took a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out the largest oval in the Stitched Shapes Framelits, then stamped the leaves in Petal Pink, stamping off first, then added the sentiment in Fresh Fig. That oval was too big for the sentiment, so I grabbed the next one down and cut it down. Perfect! I added some dimensionals and adhered it to the card. Next I found a double bow of the thread in my caddy and added it with a Mini Glue Dot. Grabbed my Share What You Love pearls and added some of the pink ones. And voila! Perfect scrap card!!

I like to bring the outside of the card to the inside when I create cards. I know it uses a little more cardstock, but I think it finishes it off a little better. This is what I did for this one:

Do you remember my tip of the week last week about naked envelopes?  🙂 Well here’s what I did with this one:

Doesn’t that complete the whole package? And really, if you stamp the envelope while you’re creating the card, it saves you time in the long run. And Stampin’ Up! has the best envelopes. The quality is far superior then those you can get in the big box stores. If you haven’t tried them, add them to your next order. You’ll be happy you did!

And speaking of orders…now is the time to stock up on those DSP’s that you have on your Wish List. You can place your order at my online store 24/7. When you use Hostess Code SVRRWVGY, I’ll send you a pack of handmade cards. If your order is $40.00 or more, I’ll include a pack of these envelopes. Everybody could use some envelopes! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
