Hey everyone! TGIF!!! We have made it to another Friday!! I hope you have had a good week and are ready for fun-filled fall weekend! It’s been busy around here to say the least. I had Charlie for a few hours on Wednesday afternoon, which is always a hoot. That kid is the best entertainment! Then yesterday I was a vendor at one of our local farmer’s markets that also holds a small craft fair. Being a vendor takes a lot of preparation, but getting out into the community is always fun.
So what did you think of today’s project? Isn’t it cute? It’s using the Wrapped in Plaid bundle and specialty DSP. Here are the measurements for the card:
- Card base in Shaded Spruce cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, 3/8″ x 3 /14″ and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
- Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP cut at 2″ x 5 1/2″ and 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ for the inside
I have to say that as a plaid lover, this pack of DSP just makes me happy!! And then throw in that it has Night of Navy in it? Woo hoo!!! And I am happy to say that everything except the DSP is from my scrap bin. I started by cutting my DSP and adding it to the Whisper White layer, then gluing it to the card base. I stamped the tree image on a scrap of Whisper White in Shaded Spruce ink and punched it out. I had a left over starburst of gold foil so I punched a 2″ circle of Night of Navy and glued them together and added it to the card front with dimensionals. Next I added the tree with some dimensionals. I pulled out the left over strip of Whisper White and stamped my sentiment in Night of Navy ink, flagged the ends with my Banner Triple punch and added it to the card front dimensionals. I grabbed my pack of Holiday Rhinestones (LOVE LOVE LOVE these!!) and added them to the card.
For the inside I added the little strip of DSP to the Whisper White. I wanted to leave a little of Whisper White showing at the top to imitate the front of the card, so I dropped it down a little rather then gluing it to the edge. Next I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and then glued it all to the inside of the card. I love the font of this stamp set!!
If you would like to order any of these items, just head over to my online store. When you place a $40.00 order or more using Host Code AA9CW4FY, I’ll send you a pack of those gorgeous rhinestones!! Trust me, you’re gonna want them, they go with EVERYTHING!!
