Hey everyone! Happy Monday!! Are you ready to see a new Product of the Week?
This week’s product is our Blender Pens. I know, it’s not a new product for some, but there are some that have no idea what they are and what they do. Today’s card shows just what they do…color! Here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Pear Pizzazz cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Subtles DSP cut at 5″ x 3 3/4″
So for those of you that don’t know what our blender pens are, here’s a look at them:
You get 3 to a pack for $12.00 and I know what you’re thinking, that seems like a lot. But in all reality, these pens last a really long time when you take care of them. They are used in conjunction with our ink pads to color stamped images. Basically you squeeze the closed ink pad so that you get ink on the lid, then you add the ink to one end of the blender pen and color. You will need to “re-ink” your blender often, so don’t get concerned that the pen is dry. Then when you have finished coloring one color, you simply wipe the blender tip on a scratch piece of paper to clean off the end, then move on to the next color. The best part of these pens is you don’t need one for every ink color you have. The blender pens are one of my go-to tools for coloring.
So let’s look at today’s card using the new Animal Outing stamp set. This set is just adorable and is one I got at OnStage. I first stamped the giraffe in Memento ink, and then added two of the leaves images in Old Olive. Then using my blender pen, I colored the giraffe with So Saffron and Soft Suede. Then I colored in the leaves with some Pear Pizzazz. Next I cut him out with the Layering Squares framelits and added a Pear Pizzazz mat and Soft Suede scalloped square. I think it almost looks like a picture. I cut a piece of the DSP in So Saffron, added it to the Whisper White, then added a piece of the Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon. I just love that ribbon! It looks good, it ties nicely, it’s just lovely ribbon! After I added the ribbon, I stamped the sentiment right on the DSP in Soft Suede ink. Then I adhered it all down on the card base. I added some dimensionals to the giraffe, then added him to the card too. Of course I had to add some bling, so I added 3 of the smallest rhinestones. Isn’t he adorable? I think it would make a great baby card!
Now if you don’t have a set of these pens, I think they are something you definitely need to add to your arsenal. You can add them to any order at my online store. When you shop and use the June Hostess Code X6VBJFJ4 and place a $40.00 order or more, I’ll send you a pack of handmade cards. If your order is $50.00 or more, I’ll include a new embellishment from the catalog. Everyone loves to get happy mail!
Thank you for stopping by, and be sure to come back tomorrow for another CASE-ing Tuesday. I’ll have another project to share using the Blender Pens. Have a great evening!
