Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I hope your first Monday of the new year is going well. I wanted to share a quick card created with the Timeless Tropical stamp set. I love everything about this suite of product!! It’s got some beautiful bright papers in the pack and who doesn’t love those Hawaiian flowers? Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Pool Party cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
- Tropical Oasis DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
I started by choosing my card base, which was in my stash, and then I cut my DSP and glued it to the card base. I found the Crumb Cake piece in my scraps and stamped the palm trees in Crumb Cake on it. I wanted it to look weathered, so I took an old pair of scissors and distressed the edges. You don’t want to use a good pair as this will dull the edges. Next I took a sponge and sponged on some Crumb Cake ink for even more distressing. I then added a strip of Tear and Tape on the back and glued on a piece of that new Braided Burlap Ribbon. To be able to glue it to the card base, I added another strip of Tear and Tape to the ribbon and dimensionals to the other side of the cardstock and then adhered it to the card base. Next I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink on the Pool Party strip. It looked too clean so I distressed the edges with Crumb Cake ink and then glued it to the card base with Snail. I grabbed some of my Holiday Rhinestones and added them to the card. I think it turned out cute, what do you think?
For the inside I distressed the edges of the Whisper White with Crumb Cake ink and then stamp the palm trees again, stamping off first so the image is very light. I didn’t stamp a sentiment yet, as I’m not sure who is going to get this card.
I don’t know about you, but I love this card! I’ve always loved Pool Party and Crumb Cake together and then throw in some Pear Pizzazz on the DSP, perfection!
