Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. Were you able to catch my FB Live this morning? If not, you can watch the replay here. This week’s projects are with the Whale of a Time Suite of products. I think since we have been dealing with 105+ degree heat all week and our A/C going out (fixed now, thank you Jesus!) I wanted something cool in my life. 🙂 I created two cards this week.

Here are are the measurements for the cards:

  • Card bases in Pretty Peacock cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Whale of a Time DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, embossed and 2 cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside

I have to say that this DSP is one of the cutest packs we’ve had in a long time, and the color scheme is definitely a favorite! The first card is all about the DSP.

When I originally chose this piece of DSP, I was going to stamp the whale to punch out and use on the card front. That is, until I saw the sheet full of whales! I saw the Blackberry Bliss one and thought it was the perfect compliment to the vines in the paper that are in Blackberry Bliss. And then of course the cute sea turtle in Blackberry Bliss just had to be added. I had to fussy cut him out, but that’s okay. I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock and then added both the whale and the turtle with dimensionals. Next I added some of those gorgeous sequins with some Multipurpose Glue. I didn’t like the way I added them to this card, so I changed them up in the video.

For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock and the the coral in Calypso Coral ink.

For my second card, I wanted to use that gorgeous embossing folder, the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder. It is so pretty!!!

Isn’t that folder adorable? When I sponged it, I wanted it to have a flow-y effect, so I sponged it more on the diagonal. I started with Calypso Coral and sponged the upper right hand corner, then I added some Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Pretty Peacock inks. I thought it turned out really nicely. I then wrapped around a piece of that beautiful Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon and tied it in a bow and then glued it to the card front. I stamped my sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock in Pretty Peacock ink and then the fish in Pool Party ink right over the top. Then I punched it out with the Story Time Label Punch. I then added it to the card front with dimensionals and some of the sequins that I attached with Multipurpose Glue.

I used too many sequins on both cards, so in the video I only added 3 sequins to both cards, sticking to the rule of three. They looked much better. For the inside of this card, I only stamped the little seahorse since I didn’t know who was going to get this.

This really is a fun suite and I hope you enjoyed the cards. If you would like to purchase any of today’s items, just head over to my online store to shop.
