Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! It’s October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but here in Redding, it’s time for Think Pink. Think Pink is a campaign that was started here by three doctors to help bring awareness to breast cancer by handing out gift bags, pink of course, with goodies like a calendar and other fun swag type items, along with resource information on self examination and mammograms. So today’s project is in commemoration of all those who have fought this battle or is currently fighting the battle.
Here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Melon Mambo cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and one at 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock 2 cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″, one for the inside
- Plaid Tidings DSP cut at 2″ x 5 1/4″
I have to say that the Plaid Tidings pack of DSP is one of my favorites…and it’s on sale through the end of the month! Woo hoo!! I started by trimming my piece of DSP and gluing it to the piece of Melon Mambo. I then stamped my sentiment from the Rustic Retreat stamp set (not just for Christmas!) in Melon Mambo ink on the lower right hand corner. I glued it to the card front and then glued the other layers to the left of the sentiment. I punched out two butterflies in Vellum cardstock and added them to the card with mini glue dots. To help hide the glue dots, I added some rhinestones. Just clean and simple.
For the inside, I used chose the sentiment from the Beautiful Moments stamp set and stamped it in Melon Mambo. The butterflies are from the same stamp set and are stamped in Melon Mambo ink too, but stamped off firs.
