While you’re there, I would love it if you gave my video a thumbs up, you know how that whole algorithm thing likes those thumbs! lol And if you aren’t a subscriber, I would be honored if you subscribed today.

Today’s project is all about using some of the new Tea Boutique suite of products and some of the new In Colors. I have to say, this year’s new In Colors are just happy colors! Here are the measurements to my tea bag holder:

  • Base in Tahitian Tide cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 10 1/2″, scored at 3 1/2″ and 7″
  • Parakeet Party cardstock 3 cut at 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ and one of them cut in half diagonally
  • Tea Boutique DSP 2 cut at 3″ x 3″ and one of them cut in half diagonally
  • Basic White cut at 3″ x 3″

You knew with this new tea inspired paper I was just going to have to create a tea bag holder.  😉  I have to say there are a bunch of them shown on Pinterest, which is where I found my pattern, thanks to fellow demonstrator Julie Davison. I just the simple cuts to create this, but of course, adding my own spin. You can get 2 tea bag holders out of sheet of cardstock, which is always nice. After I trimmed my base, I trimmed one side on the diagonal from the edge of the base to the first score line. I also cut one of my Parakeet Party squares and one of the DSP squares in half diagonally.

I added a little bit of Multipurpose Glue at the bottom edge of the trimmed side and folded it over to secure it at the base. This forms the pocket for your tea bag. Next I attached the diagonally cut DSP to the diagonally cut cardstock and then attached them to the pocket. I stamped my tea cup in Parakeet Party ink, stamping off first and then stamped it on the Basic White layer. I then stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky ink over the tea cup. I attached it to another Parakeet Party layer and both to the left inside layer of the holder.

Next I stamped the tea cup again in Parakeet Party ink on a scrap of Parakeet Party cardstock and die cut it. I also die cut the large of the tags on a scrap of Basic White and stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky ink. I added a little Stampin’ Seal to the back of the tag and then added a little piece of the new In Color Baker’s Twine in Starry Sky. I added more adhesive to the back of the tea cup then secured the tag to the cup with a mini dimensional. I attached the DSP to the last Parakeet Party square. Before I attached that to the front, I added a small strip of adhesive to the middle to secure a piece of the new Tahitian Tide Metallic Ribbon for my tie. I added the DSP layers over the ribbon and tied the holder shut. I added my tea cup with dimensionals and added some rhinestones for my bling.

Didn’t that turn out cute? This pack of paper is 6″ x 6″ and I love that this pattern is printed so that you can easily cut it at 3″ x 3″ and not cut into the tea pots!! And if you look closely, all of the new In Colors are in that sheet.
