Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. It’s been a busy one around here with the launch of the new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (aka JJ Mini) and the launch of the first Sale-a-bration for the year. What is Sale-a-bration you ask? It’s the biggest sale period of the year at Stampin’ Up! where for every $50.00 in product you purchase, you get to choose an item for FREE from the SAB Catalog. Normally this sale period runs from January through March, but this year we have two sales periods!! Woo Hoo!!! This first one runs for January and February and the second will be July and August. Twice the fun and with a whole month longer to sale-a-brate! So for today’s project, we’re playing with the new Sweet Strawberry Bundle from the new JJ Mini Catalog and that gorgeous coordinating bundle from the SAB Catalog, the Berry Blessings Bundle, and of course, that adorable Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine that is now available!! Were you able to watch me live on Facebook this morning? If not, you can catch the replay here on my Youtube Channel. While you are there, please be sure to like and share my video and if you aren’t a subscriber yet, I would love it if you subscribed to my channel!
When I created this project yesterday, this is what I started with, but as you saw in the video, I decided to change it up a bit by switching the card base and scalloped squares around.
Here are the measurements for the cards:
- Card bases in Blushing Bride and Balmy Blue cardstocks cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4
- Shaded Spruce cardstock cut at 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, embossed
- Berry Blessings DSP cut at 2 1/2″ x 4″
- Blushing Bride and Balmy Blue die cut with 2″ scalloped square
- Whisper White die cut with 1 5/8″ square and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
I found the card sketch for today’s card on Pinterest, so if you are ever having mojo issues, just head over there and do a search for card sketches. There’s always one that works! Next I looked at the DSP to choose which piece I wanted and then went with a Blushing Bride card base. I chose Shaded Spruce for my strip and embossed with one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. It fits the new Mini Stampin’ Cut & Embose Machine perfectly!! I the trimmed and die cut the other layers. I stamped the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink on the lower right corner of the card base and then attached the embossed strip. I attached the DSP to the card with Stampin’ Seal adhesive. Next I stamped the strawberry on a scrap of Whisper White (Basic White is available now), stamping the outline in Real Red ink and the center in Poppy Parade inks and punched it out with the Strawberry Builder Punch. I Then stamped the stem outline in Shaded Spruce ink and the center in Granny Apple Green ink and punched it out. I attached the two together with a Mini Glue Dot. I glued the two squares together and added it to the card front with dimensionals and the strawberry to the squares with more dimensionals. I then added some Red Rhinestones for bling.
For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Shaded Spruce along with the leaf image. Since you need to stamp off for the leaf, I stamped the envelope first. I stamped the outline in Shaded Spruce first generation on the envelope and then on the inside layer. Next I inked the solid leaf image in Shaded Spruce, stamped off and then stamped the envelope and then the inside layer. By stamping this way, it saves your ink and you get your envelope decorated all at the same time!!
Here’s a look at the envelope, both are stamped the same.
So what do you think? Which do you like the best, the pink or the blue? Since I’m a blue girl, you know which one I liked, but whichever you choose, they’re both adorable!! Now the real question, what do you think of the Berry Blessings DSP? You could actually qualify to get the Berry Blessings Bundle for free when you purchased the new Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, the Sweet Strawberry Bundle and the Greenery Embossing Folder Set. Ready to place your order? Just head over to my online store here to place your order. When you place a $50.00 or more order and use Host Code UHGPNTR7, not only will you qualify for a free item from Stampin’ Up!, but I’m going to send you a free embellishment from the new Jan-Jun Mini Catalog, but you have to use the Host Code.
