Isn’t that a cute card? Since I was finally opening my December Paper Pumpkin kit, I decided to use one of the card bases to create my take for the week.
I somewhat followed the measurements for my take. I trimmed off half of one of the card bases in the Paper Pumpkin kit to the 3″ x 5″ measurements, but when I added it to my Shaded Spruce card base, it just looked a little too dark. I had a scrap of Basic White that I trimmed to 3 1/8″ x 5 1/8″ and added my piece of card base with Stampin’ Seal and then added it all to the card base. The white really made the card piece pop! The die cut flower I added is actually a sneak peek from a pack of die cuts coming next week in the Jan-April Mini Catalog. It’s called Covered in Flowers Accents and they are all in white. They are a little thicker than Thick Basic White, but not as thick as chipboard making them the perfect thickness for any project. You can sponge them with ink or color with Blends, or anything else your creative mind can think of! Since they are white, it made the perfect pop for my card. I just attached it with mini glue dots. Next I stamped the sentiment from the kit in Night of Navy, the color of the ink spot in the kit, and added it to the card with dimensionals. If you look closely, you can see the copper foiling on the edges of the sentiment strip, which is also from the kit. Then, to keep it simple, I added two of the copper adhesive-backed sequins from the kit.
For the inside, I had a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White that I stamped another sentiment from the kit in Night of Navy ink. Then I added I 1/4″ strip of the card base to the bottom and attached it all to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope. I used the last little bit of the half of the card front from the kit to decorate the edge of the envelope flap. I still have the other half of the card base to create another alternate.
