Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! As promised, I wanted to share my scrapbook layout that I mentioned on my Facebook Live this past Tuesday. If you missed the live, you can watch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here. The Softly Stippled DSP coordinates with the Softly Sophisticated Bundle, that are items you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration, plus the new Stippled Roses Bundle out of the new Jan-April Mini Catalog. The papers in the pack all have that stippled look, hence the name. 🙂 Let’s look at my layout using the DSP and the Stippled Roses Bundle:
Here are the measurements:
- Base in Pebbled Patch cardstock – 12″ x 12″
- Softly Stippled DSP – 2 @ 3/4″ x 12″ and 3 1/2″ x 12″
- Very Vanilla cardstock – 3 @ 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ photo mats
- Photos – 3 @ 4″ x 3″
I thought that this DSP that I chose has a vintage feel, so I pulled out some older photos that are still in boxes (gasp! I know!!). These are of my oldest daughter’s 2nd birthday. To give you an idea how old these photos are, her 43rd birthday is Sunday! 😛
The 3/4″ strips are actually the backside of the floral layer and are attached with Stampin’ Seal +, as are the photos to the photo mats. I started by attaching my strips and then die cutting my leaves in Calypso Coral cardstock. I added the leaves down the strip with a little bit of Multipurpose Glue. Next time I cut those, I will definitely be using our adhesive sheets. Next I trimmed my photos down and attached them to the mats and layered them down the page. I stamped my leaves images in Pebbled Path ink and colored them with my light Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends Marker, our alcohol markers. I then die cut them with the coordinating die and added them around my photos with dimensionals. Next I die cut my 2 with an old die set that I had that is not a Stampin’ Up! set, I think it’s from We R Memory Keepers. to create some depth to the number, I die cut it 3 times and glued them together. I didn’t like it sitting all by itself on the base, so I punched out a the DSP using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch, added that layer to the base with dimensionals and then added the number to it, also with dimensionals. I punched another hexagon label in the DSP and used the backside for my journaling using the Pebbled Path Stampin’ Write Marker. I then found two buttons in my stash that are almost a lighter version of Calypso Coral and attached them with multiple Mini Glue Dots. I had a bow in the Pebbled Path Jute Trim sitting on my desk, so I added that with Mini Glue Dots. For my bling, I added some of the 2023/2025 In Color Dots in Pebbled Path.
When I look at these photos I see my grandson Charlie’s face. I think I need to pull out some more of my older photos and start scrapbooking them. Stampin’ Up! may not have all the “scrapbooking” bells and whistles that other companies my have, but with a little work and pulling items from our stash, we can create some beautiful layouts.
I hope you liked today’s layout and that I was able to inspire you to pull out some of those old photos and create some gorgeous layouts of your own. If you do, I would love to see them! Have a great Thursday and be sure to be kind to yourself!!
