Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. It’s been really busy around here, but then, I’d be worried if it wasn’t! lol For today’s project we’re playing with a brand new stamp set that will debut in the upcoming Jan-Jun Mini Catalog. I received mine in my swag bag from Stampin’ Up! last month when I attended the OnStage@Home event. I love their events! Any way, were you able to watch my Facebook Live this morning? If not, you can watch the replay here on my Youtube Channel. While you’re there, please feel free to like and share my video and I would love it if you would subscribe if you aren’t a subscriber yet.
Here are the measurements for today’s card:
- Card base in Merry Merlot, cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Classic Christmas DSP cut at 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
- Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 5″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3″ x 4 3/4″ and 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ for the inside
I have to say, that I when I first saw this stamp set, I wasn’t a fan. Then when I saw it presented during a presentation, I had a one of those “I’ve got to have it” moments come over me. You know that feeling! lol I actually created this card right after the event back in November and since the new catalog will be launching in just a few weeks, I thought it was time to show it off.
I wanted to use some of the Classic Christmas DSP which is from the Curvy Celebrations product line and is only available until January 4th. I love that it’s not all Christmas patterns too, so when you purchase yours, you’ll be able to use it for other occassions. I started the card by stamping my image in Crumb Cake ink and then coloring it in with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, our version of alcohol markers. I love that the color names are the same as our inks so that it makes it really easy to grab the right markers. After I colored it in, I added some Wink of Stella to it and then stamped my sentiment in Merry Merlot ink. I attached the DSP to my card base, my Whisper White layer to my Crumb Cake layer and then both to the card front. For that added touch of bling, I added some of the Holiday Rhinestones in Merry Merlot.
I love how well thsoe two colors go together! For the inside, I added a stamped of image in Crumb Cake ink and the sentiment in Merry Merlot. I glued the this layer to another Crumb Cake layer and both to the inside of the card. I think by adding the extra layer of Crumb Cake cardstock it brings the outside of the card to the inside for that extra bit of coordination.
And I decorated the envelope with a scrap of the same DSP to tie it all together.
So what do you think? Isn’t it a quick and easy card? #simplestamping at it’s best! Like I said earlier, it may not be my style of stamp set, but it really is going to be a fun one to use for all of those quick and easy projects.
