Hey everyone! Welcome to the second sneak peek of the projects for this week’s workshop. For those that don’t know me, I am obsessed with Mason Jars so the Jar of Love Bundle was at the top of my wish list when the new catalog came out. I just love the whole Mason Jar/rustic look that is so on trend now and knew immediately that was the way I was going with this card.
I took a Tip Top Taupe card base and stamped it with the Hardwood background stamp set in Tip Top Taupe. I wanted to heat emboss the sprigs stamp with White Embossing Powder over the stamped image of the wood grain, so lightly rubbed the card with the Embossing Buddy to eliminate any static on the card and prevent any granules of embossing powder sticking else where on the card. I then stamped the sprigs with Versamark, sprinkled on the powder and then heat set it. I also stamped the word Friend with Versamark and heat set it with the embossing powder too. I stamped the jar outline with Tempting Turquoise on vellum and let it sit for a minute to allow dry time of the ink, Once dried, I cut it out using the framelits. When you purchase the stamp set and framelits as a bundle, you save 10%, and who doesn’t want to save money?
Burlap and lace are such a popular thing now and have been for a couple of years, so I wanted to add that to the look. I took a small piece of our new 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and a piece of the Very Vanilla Lace Trim and glued them together using my Fast Fuse adhesive. That adhesive really works well on ribbon and I use it often when adding ribbon to projects. Once they were glued together, I ran another line on the back and adhered it the jar. I then ran shaped the image to try and give a bow effect so that it would stand out like a real jar. I cut two little pieces of dimensionals and put them on the edges of the image behind the ribbon so you couldn’t see them and then adhered it to the card. Then added one rhinestone to the ribbon and voila! LOVE how this turned out. I really think it would be perfect for someone to use for a rustic wedding invitation. What do you think? It’s just too cute.
Well, that’s it for tonight. If any of these items are something you just can’t live without (like my Mason jars! he he), you can either click the button for my online store to do your shopping, or send me an email and I’ll get you set up. Have a great evening and be sure to come back tomorrow night for the final sneak peek!
