Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. Were you able to catch my Facebook Live? If not, you can catch catch the replay here. Today’s projects are two alternates created from the September Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit creates 20 cracker style treat holders and had has a ton of adorable die cuts for decorations. This kit is not exclusive to Halloween either, which is great for those that don’t celebrate it. Twenty treat holders is a lot, so I knew I had plenty to play with!
I just had to use some of them to create a fun Halloween card. Here are the measurements:
- Card base in Pumpkin Pie cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Black Glitter Paper cut at 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″
- Treat holder base cut with Stitched So Sweetly Die
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
I wanted to use some of that Black Glitter Paper for a Halloween card, and had this piece left over from another project. I then cut one of the treat bases with the die right in the center between all of the score lines. I added that to the Glitter Paper with mini glue dots and then attached it to the card front with black dimensionals. Next I popped out the die cuts, stamped the jack o’lantern on the small pumpkin and then added it to the double pumpkin with a black dimensional. I added a couple of the loopy die cuts to the back with mini Glue Dots and then added a couple more black dimensionals. I add a couple of the flowers to the witch’s hat with mini glue dots and then added some black dimensionals to the back of it and the black cat, then attached them all to the card front. I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink on one of the die cut labels and added it to the card front with mini black dimensionals. I love that this kit has some black baker’s twine because I was very sad when it retired out of the catalog. I love using twine for that perfect little touch. I tied a little bow and added it to the label with a mini glue dot and then added some of the Holiday Rhinestones for bling.
For the inside I stamped the sentiment in black and the witch’s hat in Pumpkin Pie ink, stamped off.
Just a fun little Halloween card!!! For my second alternate, I pulled out my Sunflower dies.
Here are the measurements:
- Card base in Old Olive cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 5 1/8″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
- Treat base die cut with the Sunflower Die and trimmed at the score line above the scalloped edge
- Pumpkin Pie cardstock die cut with the Sunflower Die
Originally I wanted to use the Cajun Craze side of the treat holder, but when I cut it out, I had the Pumpkin Pie side up. In today’s video though, we used the Cajun Craze side. I attached the Pumpkin Pie die cut piece to the solid sunflower die cut of the treat base and then added the circle that was cut from the center. I used the Multipurpose Glue for the sample card, but in the video I used mini glue dots. I added two of the die cut leaves from the kit with mini glue dots and then added some of the dimensionals from the kit. Next I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink at the about 1/2″ from the bottom of the layer. I ran a strip of Stampin’ Seal at the base and attached the scalloped strip to the card. Next, I added some of the adhesive down each side of the layers and wrapped some of the Whisper White twine from the kit, attaching to the adhesive on the back. I then added this to the card front. I tied a double bow and added it to the card front with more mini glue dots. I attached the sunflower to the card and then added some of the Holiday Rhinestones. (Be sure to look at the video to see the card in Cajun Craze. It is sooooo pretty!!)
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink and then added a few of the negative die cut pieces from the treat holder to create a border on the left side of the card. Just a simple way to use up all of your kit!
I can’t wait to create some really cute scrap pages with these die cuts!! I know that there will be some adorable pictures of Charlie in his Halloween costume that will be perfect for this kit!
