Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! How’s your week going? Today we got a chance to play with the stamp set Sentimental Swirls, which was inspired by Million Dollar Achiever, Sam Hammond, in the UK. I also shared a sneak peek at my March Class-to-Go using the Hello Beautiful stamp set. Today is the last day to order this class. You can read all about the class on yesterday’ blog post here. Here’s a look at the cards you will be making:

Back to today’s project. Were you able to catch my live video? If not, you can watch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here. One of the things I love most about this stamp set is it’s versatility, the possibilities are endless!

Here are the measurements:

  • Card base in Pacific Point cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside

I wanted to create something that was not only simple, but packed a lot cuteness to it. I first started by using my Blending Brushes and created the background on my white layer. I started with some Coastal Cabana on the top, Daffodil Delight for the middle and Melon Mambo on the bottom. I have so much fun creating color with those brushes!! Once I had the color combo I wanted, I pulled out the stamps and my Memento ink pad. I started by stamping the large swirl and added some of the smaller ones, attaching them to the larger lines. Since it’s a photopolymer stamp set, it’s really easy to see right where your stamping. I then stamped three of the butterflies and the bird, and then the sentiment at the bottom. I just love this font! I have used the sentiments for a lot of other projects as it goes with everything. Next I stamped three of the flowers and five of the leaves on a scrap of Basic White. I colored them with my Balmy Blue, Just Jade and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers, our version of alcohol markers. I punched out the leaves and flowers with the Flowers and Leaves Punch that is part of the Flowers of Friendship Bundle. I assembled the leaves and flowers with Mini Glue Dots and added them to the card front with dimensionals. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and butterflies. For the butterflies, you need to wait a bit for the ink that you blend on to completely dry before adding the Wink of Stella, otherwise you might create a watercolor effect that you may not want. Then for my bling, I added some of the Waves Rhinestones in the Pacific Point color for that perfect touch. Don’t you just love it when SU! brings our colored rhinestones???

For the inside, I lightly blended on the same colors as the front and stamped the sentiment and butterfly in Memento.

For the envelope I just stamped a butterfly and added some Wink of Stella.

Isn’t that a fun set? And you can do so much with it; you’re only limited to your imagination! So ready to add this to your collection? Just head over to my online store to shop.
