Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I hope your start to the week is going well. I don’t know about you, but it’s hot here, so summer is upon us! And to get you started let’s look at the Sailing Home Bundle today. This is a card I created last week and never had a chance to share with you until now. Here are the measurements for the card:
- Card base in Night of Navy cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Sahara Sand cardstock cut at 2″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
Since I don’t have the DSP yet, I chose to create a piece of my own using the Stamparatus. It works like magic when lining up images. I placed my piece of Sahara Sand down with a magnet and started at the top and stamped the rope image in Sahara Sand ink. Then I moved the plate down two hinge spaces and stamped again, then once more. I cleaned my stamp, measured again for the second row and repeated the steps. I love how it turned out! Then I wrapped a piece of the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine around and tied it in a knot up at the top. I thought it needed a little something, so I stamped the anchor image in Basic Gray (stamping off first) and then cut it out with the coordinating die. I took another piece of the twine and separated the colors and used the strands of Night of Navy to tie the anchor to the twine I wrapped at the top. Then I glued it all down. Next I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut it out with the label die. I really like the shape of this one. I cut out the ship’s wheel in Sahara Sand and added it to the back of the label with a couple of Mini Glue Dots. I ran a few strips of adhesive on the back of the label and added some more of the Baker’s Twine. Next I added some dimensionals and added it to the card front.
Since I’m not sure who is going to get this card yet, I just stamped the anchor in Basic Gray again, stamping off like the other one and glued the layer to the inside.
I think you’re going to like these new style dies as much as I do. Whenever you have anything intricate like stitching or small cut areas, the cardstock just falls right out! I love it!
