Hey everyone! How’s your Thursday going? I wanted to share another thinking of you card I created with the Rooted in Nature Bundle. When I saw this set at OnStage, I instantly fell in love with it. There’s just something about trees that can be so soothing when you’re not only creating with them, but when you receive a card with them on it. Here’s the measurements of the card:

  • Card base in Soft Suede cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Whisper White layer cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″ and 5″ x 3 3/4″ for the inside
  • Nature’s Poem DSP cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″

I love the different textures in this card, from the look of the DSP to the texture in the Classic Weave Ribbon. After I cut, scored and folded the card base in half, I adhered the DSP layer to the Whisper White layer. I took the ribbon and wrapped it around the layers and tied it in a flat knot, then adhered it to the card base. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink and cut it out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Looking at the leaf framelits from the bundle, I first chose the leaves framelits that are strictly embossing framelits and embossed a scrap piece of Soft Suede. Then using the outline framelits, cut the leaves out. I was afraid that running it through the Big Shot after I embossed the cardstock would flatten it too much, but it came through just fine. I did try it the other way, cutting out the leave, then embossing them, but it didn’t work very well at all. After I cut out two sets, I added some some Snail Adhesive to the back of the them and added them to opposite corners of the oval. I then added dimensionals to the oval and adhered it to the card front. Next I added three little pearls to the oval to finish it off. Then I took the inside piece of Whisper White and stamped the sentiment at the top and the leaves (first stamping off) to the bottom corner of the cardstock, then adhered it to the inside. Here’s a look at that layer:

I really think this set will be around for a long time; it’s just grand not to. Did you see the sample that we are casing over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? And if you did, did you see that we are celebrating 150 cases by giving away a new kit from the catalog? Take a look at this:

All you have to do is create your take on Tuesday’s case of the Rooted in Nature sample in the catalog and you could win that Darling Label Punch Box kit. That tin alone is enough to want to win it!!
