Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. It’s hard to believe that Sale-a-bration is ending in just 3 days! So with that in mind, I thought that I would share some cards created with some of the adorable Oh So Ombre DSP from the Sale-a-bration Catalog. Did you see my Facebook Live this morning? If not, you can catch the replay here on my YouTube Channel. I figured since I missed my last two lives, I would make up for it by creating this mini class of sweet and simple cards.

This was actually the first time I had played with the Oh So Ombre paper….how bad is that? It is soooooo versatile!! It has just two patterns in four colors, a polka dot type and then just a plain ombre look. The colors in the pack are Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, Rococo Rose and Blackberry Bliss. Here’s a look at card one:

The measurements:

  • Card base in Early Espresso cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
  • Oh So Ombre DSP cut at 2″ x 5 1/2″ and 1/2″ x 5″ for the inside

I love the color combo of blues and browns, it’s just something I tend to gravitate to, so the Bermuda Bay was the perfect choice for card one.  I started with my card base that was left over from a previous class. I trimmed the Basic White and Dsp and then attached them together. I added the little piece of the Faux Suede Ribbon and then attached it to the card base. I used the “cheater” method by cutting the ribbon just a little wider then the layers and attaching it with the Stampin’ Seal on the back and then you can add a little piece of the ribbon to create the faux bow right where you want it. Doing it this way gives you a lot of wiggle room. Next I cut out the label in the plain pattern of the ombre paper with the smallest die from the Hippo & Friends Die Set. I stamped the sentiment from the Sale-a-bration stamp set Heal Your Heart in Early Espresso ink and attached it to the card with dimensionals. I added the little know and sprinkled on some of the sequins in the Artistry Blooms Sequins pack. LOVE those sequins because they go with everything!!

For the inside, I added the strip of DSP to the left side of the inside layer and then glued it down. I didn’t add a sentiment yet, but it’s ready to go when I need it.

And there was even a piece big enough to decorate the envelope. Doesn’t that just make the whole project?

On to card number two. I had to bring a piece of the Flower & Field DSP for this one too.

Here are the measurements:

  • Card base in Basic Black cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Oh So Ombre DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Flower & Field DSP cut at 2″ x 5 1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside

While cruising through Pinterest I saw someone post a card with the two DSP’s in this card and just fell in love with the combination. Sooooo, I pulled out a Basic Black card base and trimmed the Oh So Ombre piece in Granny Apple Green so that the lightest part of the ombre shading was on the bottom. That way the stamped sentiment would really pop. I trimmed a scra of the Flower & Field DSP and then glued them together and then to the card base. I stamped the sentiment from the A Touch of Ink Sale-a-bration stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink down on the lower right hand corner. I punched out two of the Medium Daisies in Basic White and a 1/2″ circle of Daffodil Delight and assembled the daisy with Mini Glue Dots. I added it to the card front with a dimensional and sprinkled on some rhinestones. Easy-peasy!!

For the inside I stamped the leaves from the same stamp set in stamped off Granny Apple Green ink and added the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. I chose to stamp it all at the bottom of the layer just to be different.

I really like how this turned out. There’s plenty of room above the stamping for you to write anything you want or nothing but your name – it’s all up to you! And for the envelope, I stamped the leaves in full strength ink on the front, but in the video I added a scrap of the Oh So Ombre to the envelope. If you have the paper, why not use it, right?

Here’s the envelope from the video. I think I like the DSP covered one better, how about you?

And for our third card, I used a piece of the DSP in Rococo Rose.

Here are the measurements for the card:

  • Card base in Rococo Rose cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
  • Oh So Ombre DSP cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″

I was really happy to use all scraps for my cards for everything except the Oh So Ombre layers. I started with my card base and trimmed my layers to the measurements. I glued the DSP and Basic White together and then added a piece of the Linen Scalloped Ribbon in Rococo Rose. I am going to miss this color. It’s one of the retiring In Colors this year, so if you have this color, it’s time to stock up on the reinkers and cardstock. I attached the ribbon on the back of the layers with my Stampin’ Seal, and then attached everything to the card front, saving the knot for later. I cut out one of the scalloped rectangles from the Stitched So Sweetly Die Set for stamping. To bring in the linen color, I stamped my sentiment in Crumb Cake ink and the candles in Rococo Rose. I used the Sale-a-bration stamp set Approaching Perfection for this card. I added my die cut to the card front with dimensionals and then added my knot. Next I added some more of those Artistry Blooms Sequins for my sparkle. Didn’t I tell you they go with everything??

For the inside, I used Crumb Cake ink for the sentiment and the balloon and then colored the balloon with the Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends marker.

And of course the envelope:
