Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. Did you get your October Paper Pumpkin kit yet? I know the mail delivery has been a little sketchy with everything that has been going on, but I actually got mine yesterday. So naturally I had to make an alternate project for today’s Facebook Live. Were you able to watch it live this morning? If not, you can watch the replay here on my YouTube Channel. While you are there, I would love it if you would like and share my video. If you aren’t a subscriber, please feel fee to subscribe too. Here’s a look at today’s alternate card:

Measurements for today’s card:

  • Card base in Early Espresso cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/4″
  • Back of one card base from kit cut at 2 3/4″ x 5 14″
  • Soft Sea Foam cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″

My kit arrived in my mail late yesterday afternoon so I only had a chance to create the one alternate, but not to worry, I’m sure I will have a few more for you before the next kit comes out. I have to say the die cut embellishments from the kit are adorable and I just had to use one for my alternate.

After I found my card base, which I had left over from another project, I scored the extra score mark at the 1 1/2″ mark to create my z-fold card. Next I trimmed the piece of the card base from the kit and randomly stamped the flower image in Crumb Cake ink. Next I added the little holly looking berries, also in Crumb Cake ink. I added some adhesive just to the back of the left hand side to attach it to the card base on the first fold. Before I attached it, I took the Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine (LOVE!!) and wrapped it around twice, attaching the ends to the adhesive. This is one of the biggest reasons I love our Stampin’ Seal Adhesive! After I attached the twine, I added this layer to the card front. Next I cut an oval from a scrap of Soft Sea Foam and stamped the sentiment at the bottom in Early Espresso ink. I added it to the card front with dimensionals, and then added the die cut with more dimensionals. I thought it “needed something”, so I added a double bow of the twine and some of the Holiday Rhinestones for my bling. Those rhinestones are turning out to be my favorites – they go with everything! I also added some Wink of Stella for a subtle shimmer on the flowers.

For the inside, I wanted to bring in some more of the Soft Sea Foam, so I trimmed another scrap for the base layer, and a piece of Whisper White to layer on top of it. I stamped the sentiment from the kit in Early Espresso, and then the flower in stamped off Crumb Cake. I thought it might be a little too much, but I went with it any way. I glued them together and then to the inside of the card. By cutting the Soft Sea Foam down to the smaller size, it all fits within the card to hide behind the front layers. Be sure to watch the video as I stamped the inside layer differently and it looks much cleaner.

Here’s a look at the card from the top so you can see how it is a take on a z-fold.

And don’t forget the envelope!!

So what do you think? Isn’t it a fun card? And with all of the embellishments, you have so many options for more then just the card samples in the directions. And scrapbook pages would look adorable with these!! That’s next on my list! I thank you for stopping by. If you haven’t subscribed to Paper Pumpkin yet, you may just want to before November 10th so you can get the November kit. It’s going to be all about gingerbread men and gift card holders.
