Happy Thursday everyone! How is your week going? I finally got to play with the October Paper Pumpkin Kit! What an adorable kit!!! I just love everything about it!! I have to say that Stampin’ Up! is really upping their game on these kits lately! This one is so cute that I had to order a couple of the refills! So were you able to watch the Facebook Live when I created my alternates? If not, you can catch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here. Let’s start with the scrapbook layout:

Here are the measurements:

  • Cherry Cobbler cardstock 12″ x 12″
  • Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
  • 2 Card fronts from kit cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Kit envelope trimmed 2 pieces at 1
  • Photo mat is the back of one of the cards cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

My layout is pretty basic using the elements from the kit. I did add three of the Wonderful Snowflakes on the card front layers. They are the same type of shinny paper that the snowflakes from the kit are. The JOY letters are attached is actually a journaling tag and is created using a piece of the envelope that I trimmed. I just love how this turned out and can’t wait to create more with the refill kit! Now let’s look at the cards.

Here are the measurements for my card:

  • Card base in Early Espresso cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Kit Card Base cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside

I decided to only make minor changes to my alternate cards because the original cards are just too cute!! I decided to add an Early Espresso card base for this one and added some of the Solid Faceted Gems for my bling. The topper for the card here I did trim to 3 3/4″ x 5″, but for the card in the video, I left it at the 4″ x 5 1/4″ for a more cohesive look. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that Santa die cut!! I wish there were more in the kits, but that’s exactly why I bought a few of the refills.

For the inside, I used the backside of the card base and stamped my sentiment and Santa in Early Espresso, which is the color of the ink spot in the kit. Isn’t that Santa face cute??? I will be using the kit envelopes for my cards so I didn’t take any photos.

Now let’s look at card 2.

And here are the measurements:

  • Card base in Bermuda Bay cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Kit Card Base cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ for both front and inside the card
  • Window Sheet cut at 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″

When I saw the original card design in the kit, I knew this was going to be a shaker card! It’s hard to see the sequins in the photo, but I used the For Everything Fancy Sequins in blue. They make the perfect “snow” for the shaker card. I stamped my sleigh in the Early Espresso on the printed layer and set it aside. Next I added some some Mini Glue Dots to the edge of the Window Sheet and attached it to the frame. I then added some of the Foam Adhesive Strips to back of the Window sheet and sprinkled in my sequins. I removed the backing of the adhesive and attached the stamped layer to the back of the frame. Next I created my card base and attached the kit card base layer and then my shaker frame. I then stamped my sentiment on the label from the kit and assembled the rest of the card. The die cut ho ho ho is layered on a vellum shadow from the kit and attached with Mini Glue Dots. I then added two of the sequins on the sentiment layer with Mini Glue Dots.

For the inside, I stamped my sentiment and that adorable Santa face again.

Isn’t that a fun kit??? I can’t wait to get my refills to create even more Christmas fun!!
