Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. Have you gotten your October Paper Pumpkin yet? It is such a beautiful kit!!!! And the refills are now available for current Paper Pumpkin customers. It is Item number 159417. And the best part of this kit is it coordinates with the Peaceful Cabin Bundle and the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP so we can create more! So you know I just had to show you my alternates for this month. Were you able to watch my Facebook Live? If not, you can watch the replay on my YouTube Channel here. Here’s my scrap layout using the kit:
Here are the measurements:
- Base 12″ x 12″ Basic White cardstock
- Peaceful Place Specialty DSP cut at 8″ x 10″
- Real Red cardstock for phot mats cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and 4 1/4″ x 5 3/8″
I have been saving these two pictures of Charlie baking Christmas cookies and this kit was it! I started by attaching the DSP layer my Stampin’ Seal. I then mounted my trimmed pictures on the mats and added them to the base. I took one of the vellum die cut trees and colored the back with the dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends and added it to the base with Mini Glue Dots from the kit. I stamped the sentiment from the kit’s stamp set in Real Red ink. I attached the wood grain label to the red flagged banner, both from the kit and then the stamped label on top of both. I attached it all with dimensionals over the trees and then added a bow from that cute Real Red Baker’s Twine in the kit. Our Paper Pumpkin kits have the best embellishments!!! Next I created the embellishment at the top of the page. I opened up one of the envelopes and using a retired circle punch, I punched a circle and added it to another circle I punched from the envelope. The envelopes have that gorgeous buffalo plaid printed on the inside as a liner. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I add those two to a circle punched from a scrap of silver foil and then added it all with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom in Real Red and sprinkled on some red rhinestones. I really like how it turned out! Now for my alternates from this morning’s video:
I love how both turned out!!!
Here’s the measurements for the card:
- Card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Shaded Spruce card base from the kit cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Buffalo Plaid layer from the kit measures 3 3/4″ x 5″
My card is very similar to the way the instructions have you create the card, but I wanted to brighten it up with a white card base. I stamped the trees on the buffalo plaid layer and then added the vellum trees from the kit with a couple of Mini Glue Dots. Next I punched out a scrap of silver foil with the Peaceful Deer punch. I added him with dimensionals and added a bow from the red twine and red rhinestone on his nose. For the sentiment, I trimmed a scrap of Basic White to 1/4″ in width and stamped the sentiment. I trimmed it and added it to one end of one of the flagged labels. I trimmed it to fit and added it with some Mini Dimensionals. Then I sprinkled on some of the cute silver glitter embellishments from the kit.
For the inside, I stamped the trees at the bottom in Shaded Spruce ink and then one of the sentiments from the kit in Real Red ink just over it. I think this gives someone lots of area to write in for those that like to write large messages.
And of course you could use one of the gorgeous foiled envelopes, but since I’m making my kit go farther, I stamped one of our Basic White envelopes.
Now on to the gift card holder!
Here are the measurements:
- Base in Smoky Slate cardstock cut at 5″ x 7 3/4″, scored at 2 1/2″ and 6″
- Peaceful Place Specialty DSP 1 cut at 2 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ and 1 cut at 1 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
After you trim all your layers, fold at the score lines. The wider of the two is going to be the front of your card. I attached my DSP layer to the front and then before I attached the smaller layer, I lined it up at the top edge of the bottom flap and punched a thumb hole with one of our retired punches. I then attached it using Stampin’ Seal. I had a Basic White label die cut with one of the Tasteful Label dies left over from a previous project and thought it went perfectly. I attached the buffalo plaid circle from the kit on top and then added the silver foil Noel from the kit with Mini Glue Dots. To add the label to the front of the card holder, just add adhesive on the top half of the base so you don’t end up gluing it shut. I added a bow of silver trim and sprinkled on some of our rhinestones and the front was done.
For the inside, you want to use a strong adhesive to secure the bottom for the gift card. When I created my sample I used Stampin’ Seal+, which is perfect for this, but you could use Tear & Tape instead. For the sentiment layer I found a scrap of Basic White and stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Cabin stamp set in Basic Gray ink and attached it with seal.
I also stamped one of the Basic White envelopes for this as well. I stamped the tree image in Basic Gray ink.
