Hey everyone! Happy first Thursday of the new year! I hope your week and new year are off to a good start. Today’s project is a card created with the brand new Hello Ladybug Bundle from the just launched Jan-June 2020 Mini Catalog. Were you able to watch my Facebook Live this morning creating this card? If not, you can catch the replay over here on my YouTube Channel. This bundle is sot stinking cute!! I just love the builder punch!
Here are the measurements of the card:
- Card base in Thick Basic White cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black cardstock cut at 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
- Pattern Party DSP cut at 2″ x 5 1/8″
- Basic White scrap 1/2″ x 3″
I just love this ladybug!! This is actually a card that was a part of an online convention that I took and I just had to share it with you! I started by attaching the DSP to the black layer and then attaching both to the card front. Next I took another large scrap of Basic White and stamped the daisy image 6 times. I inked the image in Daffodil Delight ink and then sponged on some Pumpkin Pie ink with a dauber to give the image some depth. This takes a little time as you need to clean your stamp each time so you don’t get the orange ink in your yellow ink. After I stamped them, I punched them all out with the Medium Daisy Punch. I then adhered two of the flowers together with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. Next I punched out three small circles using a retired punch and added them to the flower centers with a Mini Glue Dot and colored the centers with Wink of Stella. I then punched out two leaf boughs using the new Bough Punch. Oooooo, this one is a must have!!! I added more dimensionals to the backs of the flowers and added them to the card front. I added a couple of Mini Glue Dots to the backs of the leaves and slipped them under the flowers to attach them to the card. I then stamped the dot images on a scrap of Real Red cardstock and punched it out with the Ladybug Builder Punch and then punched the body out in a scrap of Basic Black. I attached the wings with Mini Glue Dots and added the ladybug to the card with dimensionals. For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink and flagged the end with the Banners Pick a Punch, and added it with another dimensional. Last, but not least, I added some of the new Basic Matte Dots, another must have! They come in white, vanilla, gray and black on one sheet and are flatter then the Black Matte Dots in the Annual Catalog. Makes for better shipping!
For the inside, I stamped the flowers in Pumpkin Pie ink right on the inside of the card base. You can tell my ink pad needs to be reinked, but I like the variegated color it gives for this. I needed to add more as the lid to the Memento had ink on it and I dropped it on the card and then of course had it all over my fingers. No mistakes, just room for embellishment, even if that means more ink!! lol I then stamped the sentiment in Memento next to it.
I added more of the flowers to the front of the envelope. We don’t want naked envelopes!!
