Hello again! Are you ready for another project with the Trusty Tools Bundle and that fun paper, the Trusty Tool Box DSP? I had to keep it to one card for my Facebook Live this week as I am prepping for our Stamp Club event this Friday. If you missed my live, you can catch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here. While you’re there, I would love it if you gave my video a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel.
I had so much fun with this card! It didn’t turn out like what I had in mind, but it still works! Here’s the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Lost Lagoon cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 1 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ for the box
- Trusty Tool Box DSP – 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Basic White cardstock – 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
So when I saw that the dies to this bundle created a tool box, I knew I wanted to create a girl’s tool box, and what better color than pink? Besides, even though my favorite colors are blues/teals, the tool box I have is actually pink! So there you go! lol I started by die cutting the box and the handle in Melon Mambo cardstock. It die cuts the holes for nails, which I wanted to be black, so, adding a layer behind the box worked; besides it was quick and easy! I attached the layers together with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive and then added the handle with Mini Glue Dots. Like my card for CASE-ing Tuesday this week (you can go here if you missed that post), I die cut my tools from the DSP. I attached them to the inside of the box with Mini Glue Dots. I thought the box was a little plain, so I pulled out the new Mini Alphabet Die Set and die cut some letters in Basic Black. I was surprised when I got that die set that it is one die for the entire alphabet with a few letters having two each in the die. I thought Nana fit perfectly and went with that. I then attached my letters with Multipurpose Glue. You could always use our Adhesive Sheets for the letters, but I wasn’t quite that organized! Even when I cut a second set of letters. lol I decided to go with a Lost Lagoon card base to go with the grid pattern side of one of the sheets of DSP. To bring in more black, I added it to a Basic Black Layer and attached it to the card with Seal. Next I added my tool box with dimensionals. I decided to color some rhinestones with my Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends Marker (our alcohol markers) and added them to card front.
For the inside I stamped my sentiment from the stamp set in Memento ink on my white layer and added it to the inside of the card. I had die cut the tape measure intending to use it on the front of the card, but it wouldn’t fit, so I added it to the inside layer with Seal. I did change up the inside a little, so be sure to watch my video.
For my envelope I just stamped the paint brush in Memento and then stamped the little “paint” on the end of the brush in Lost Lagoon.
