Hey everyone! Happy Thursday!!! I hope your week is going well. It’s been busy around here so for today’s Facebook Live we went with a Mystery Stamping! It was so mysterious even I didn’t know what I was going to stamp!! lol If you weren’t able to watch it live, you can watch the replay over at my YouTube Channel here. While you’re there, if you could give my video a thumbs up and subscribe, I would be ever so grateful!! So here’s a look at the final result of my project:
Isn’t she adorable?!? I had so much fun creating her! The stamp and die set are two items you can get for FREE with qualifying orders. We LOVE free!! It’s part of our summer edition of Sale-a-bration. If you don’t have the new SAB or July-Dec Mini Catalogs, let me know and we’ll get you hooked up. So here are the measurements for this card:
- Card base in Pool Party cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and trim off 3″ off the front
- Celebrate Everything DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/2″
- Basic White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
The best part of this card is that it’s created with all scraps, except for the DSP, that I had to trim from a new piece. But this is a great way to use up those scraps!! Once you have your card base trimmed, add some adhesive to the inside edge of the short side and attach your layer of DSP. It’s a fun way to use your DSP! Then I wrapped a piece of the white glitter ribbon around and tied it in a knot. Next I stamped my hippin in Gray Granite ink and colored her with Gray Granite, Petal Pink and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends, our version of alcohol markers. Once she was colored, I used the coordinating dies to cut her out and all the pieces you see. After everything was die cut, I colored the background on my scalloped rectangle with Granny Apple Green and Pool Party blends to give it some grass and sky. That way she’s not hanging in mid air! lol I then attached her goggles, snorkel and flower with some Multipurpose Glue. I cut out two of the umbrellas and snipped off the handle on the yellow so I could attach it to the pink umbrella. I added all of the elements with Multipurpose Glue and then she is added to the rectangle with a dimensional, tucking her toe into the bucket. Next I added the grass and the water droplets to finish off the scene. I added it all to the card front with dimensionals. For the sentiment, I grabbed a scrap strip of Basic White and stamped the sentiment in Memento ink. I flagged the ends and added it to the front with some Stampin’ Seal. To finish it all off, I added some of the Solid Faceted Gems in Melon Mambo. I just LOVE how she turned out!!!!
For the inside I just stamped another sentiment from the stamp set in Memento ink, and then realized there was some ink on the upper corner…..so I fixed it by adding some of the DSP to the corners. No mistakes – just opportunities to embellish! Not to mention, bring the outside of the card to the inside.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope!!! I finished off the 4″ x 12″ piece of DSP that I started with by adding it to the envelope.
Now, isn’t that a fun card??? And to think it was created on the fly!!! lol Not too bad if I do say so myself! You know you want these hippos in your stash, right?? Just do a little shopping and you could get yours for FREE!!! Just head over to my online store here.
