Hey everyone! How’s your Wednesday going? One of my downline was over today and saw this card on my desk. Well, from her reaction I think this is a winner, which surprises me because I literally threw this card together in about 5 minutes. I wasn’t very happy with it, and hadn’t decided what to do with it yet, but after she went completely nuts over, I guess I better show it to you!! lol
This is using the exclusive Merry Patterns stamp set which can be obtained only by hosting a qualifying party or placing a qualifying order through October 31st. So when I got this set and playing around with it, this was the first card I had created. I wanted to step outside the box and make a masculine card. We all tend to struggle with them and I like to try to keep some in my stash so that I’m not stressing when it’s time to make one. I pulled out a piece of Marina Mist cardstock, one of my favorite blues. Since I didn’t have any pattern paper with that color in it, I thought I’d make my own. I took out my Diagonal stamp set and inked it in Crumb Cake and stamped a piece of 3 1/4 x 3 1/4″ Whisper White. I turned it 90 degrees, inked the stamp in Marina Mist this time and stamped it. Created a nice plaid pattern, which is one of my favorites. I then took a piece of 3 3/4 x 3″ piece of Whisper White and stamped the out line of the buck in Soft Suede. Then I took the inside stamp and using a sponge inked in Crumb Cake I inked the head, antlers, and legs of the buck. Then I took another sponge and inked it in Marina Mist and colored the body of the buck. Then I “huffed” on the stamp and stamped it within the outline of the buck. I took the happy birthday from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, and stamped it in Soft Suede, then layered this on a 4 x 3 1/4″ piece of Marina Mist. I layered on the plaid piece and then the buck and adhered them straight on the card front. I added some of the Perfect White Accents and voila! I thought it was an ok card, what do you think? Hard to believe that it comes from a Christmas stamp set.

I absolutely love deer, and I REALLY like combos of blues and browns. This card just hits me between the eyes. It’s nothing fancy, but I love this card!
