Happy Thursday everyone! I hope your week is going well. Today we are playing with the March Paper Pumpkin Kit which is celebrating 10 years! Wow! How time flies when you’re having fun!! Were you able to catch my Facebook Live? If not, you can catch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here.
This definitely is an adorable kit! And I love, love, love the extra stamp set that came in it!! Let’s look at the scrapbook layout first.
When I saw the color scheme of the kit and the Easter lily image, it brought back all kinds of images in my head of Easter Sunday as a kid. I didn’t have a chance to find any of the pictures, but definitely will be hunting down one this weekend. Here are the measurements of my layout:
- Base in Shaded Spruce cardstock 12″ x 12″ and 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″
- Basic White cardstock cut at 11 1/4″ x 11 1/4″, 7″ x 8″, 4 1/8″ x 6 1/8″
- Polished Pink cardstock cut at 4 1/2″ x 11″
- Orchid Oasis cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 10″
I started by creating my own DSP by stamping the images from the stamp sets in Shaded Spruce, Orchid Oasis and Polished Pink. I stamped the flower pot in Polished Pink and the Easter Lilies in Shaded Spruce on a scrap of Basic White and fussy cut them with my snips. Everything is layered with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive and then added a piece of the White Glittered Ribbon. I attached the Easter Lilies and pot with dimensionals and then stamped the sentiments. I then added some sequins from a previous kit for my bling. These colors aren’t really something I would have chosen, but they work. Now let’s look at card 1.
Here are the measurements for this quick and easy card:
- Card base in Gorgeous Grape cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- Basic White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
- Hues of Happiness DSP cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ and 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ for the inside
I love how easily this went together. I die cut my butterfly in Shimmery White cardstock with one of the Brilliant Wings dies and then colored it with Wink of Stella to really bring out the shimmer. I attached the layers with Stampin’ Seal first and added the butterfly with Mini Glue Dots. I then stamped my sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink and punched it out with the Lasting Label punch. I added Seal on the back and added a strip of the Glittered White Ribbon. Sadly this ribbon and the Brilliant Wings dies and Brilliant Butterfly stamp set are retiring. Then I added the label with dimensionals and sprinkled on some of the Glossy Dots. The card I created on camera was the other half of this DSP done in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride. I attached it to a Melon Mambo card base and used Melon Mambo ink.
For the inside, I added a the DSP and stamped the sentiment from the April 2022 Paper Pumpkin Change is Beautiful kit. I thought this was perfect for the upcoming color changes.
And of course, I decorated the envelope with the DSP.
Now let’s look at the second card.
Here are the measurements:
- Thick Basic White cardstock for the base cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- Hello Irresistible DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ for the inside
- Basic White cardstock die cut with the Scalloped Contour dies, 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ for the layer and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
I started with my DSP and wrapped some Linen Thread around it and then added it to the card base with Stampin’ Seal. I added the scalloped rectangle with dimensionals over the thread and then added a double bow of the thread with a Mini Glue Got. On the white layer I stamped the pot in Soft Suede ink (retiring color) and the Easter Lilies in Pretty Peacock ink. I then watercolored the leaves with some Wink of Stella. I colored the centers of the lilies with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker and added the layer on the scalloped rectangle with dimensionals. I stamped the pot on a scrap of white, added the polka dot image throughout and then fussy cut it. I added it with dimensionals. I then took the sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set, that is also retiring, masked the “I’m” on the sentiment and stamped it on 1/2″ strip of white in Pretty Peacock ink. I snipped the edges and added it to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot under the “thinking” and a dimensional under the “of” so that it sat flush. Next I added some of the Festive Pearls in green for my bling.
For the inside I was originally going to just stamp on the the card base, but I stamped it crooked. Soooooo to fix it, I stamped the sentiment from the kit on the layer, added my strip of DSP and attached it to the inside. On camera, I stamped on the inside and added a 4 1/4″ x 1/2″ strip of the DSP.
I just love that sentiment!!! For the envelope, the strip of DSP that I had left was too short to cover the entire flap, so I added close to the edge and trimmed off just a little bit. I saw someone else do this and thought, why not?
Isn’t this a pretty kit? I can’t wait to make the other cards! I hope I was able to inspire you today.
