Hello everyone, how is the first day of the new week treating you? It’s been busy around here to say the least! I have a quick card to share with you and it’s using the long-loved Lovely As A Tree stamp set. This is the oldest stamp set in the catalog right now. I believe it’s been around for at least 15 years! It’s the first stamp set I purchased before I became a demonstrator. It’s always my go-to when I need to make a masculine or sympathy card, hands down. You can use it for any time of the year too, it’s just the most well rounded set we have and now it’s time to say good bye. To be honest, most all of the items I used today with the exception of the Early Espresso ink pad and the Linen Thread are retiring. Here are the measurements for the card, which incidentally was made with all scraps.
- Card base in Tranquil Tide cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Wood Textures DSP cut at 2″ x 5 1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
I’m not sure which of these products I’m going to miss more! These are all some of my favorites. I pulled out all my pieces and glued down the DSP strip on the card base. I stamped that gorgeous oak tree in Early Espresso ink and then the sentiment from the Another Wonderful Year stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink. I rounded the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch (which is sticking around for at least another year) then added that to the card front. Next I grabbed one of the cute True Gentleman Buttons and added it with Mini Glue Dots, then a bow in Linen Thread. Done!
