Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. I have been busy in the studio trying to get our September Club and Team Meeting make ‘n takes designed before I head out of town for 10 days on Friday. Monday marks 35 years for me and the love of my life and we are hitting the road. I haven’t been out of town since last November when I went to Las Vegas for OnStage….I think I’m overdo!! lol So were you able to catch my Facebook Live for today’ project? If not, you can watch the replay here. With it being the beginning of September, I just had to create something with the new Love of Leaves Bundle.

Here are the measurements for today’s project:

  • Card base in Pretty Peacock cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • Plaid Tidings DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Cajun Craze cardstock cut at 3″ x 4″
  • Brushed Metallic cardstock in gold cut at 3″ x 4″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside

I have to say that this piece of plaid is my favorite in the pack, this week anyway! lol It has the perfect fall colors in it. I have seen so many pretty cards with it and just had to put my spin on it. I pulled out a Pretty Peacock card base and after I trimmed the plaid to the measurements, I glued it down to the card base. I had a scrap of Cajun Craze that I trimmed down and cut out the leaf image in it, saving the leaf for another project. I then cut a piece of that gorgeous metallic cardstock to the same measurements as the Cajun Craze and glued them together. I then took the embossing part of the die and centered within the leaf and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to create the stitched center and then added these layers to the card front with dimensionals. I found a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White in my stash and flagged the end withe the new Banners Pick a Punch. I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink. I will tell you that it is the font in this stamp set that really made me want the set. It is soooooo cute! It’s just clean and simple, just the way I like it! I then added the sentiment strip to the card with more dimensionals. I then cut out another leaf from a scrap of vellum cardstock and added it to the sentiment strip with a Mini Glue Dot. I had a piece of that gorgeous metallic ribbon sitting on my desk, so I created a small bow and added it to the vellum leaf with another glue dot. You’d think there was enough bling on the card, but oh no! Not for me!! lol I pulled out my Dark Pretty Peacock Blends and colored some of our Rhinestone Basic Jewels and added them to the card.

For the inside I stamped the same leaf image as the die in Cajun Craze ink, stamping off twice and then added the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink right over the leaf.

And then for the envelope, I stamped the flap the same way with a different leaf and different sentiment. I this sentiment is perfect for the envelope don’t you think? You’re sending the card to someone and what better way to reiterate the fact that you thought of them?
