Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope you all are having a great week. Were you able to catch my Facebook Live this morning? If not, you can catch the replay here or on my Youtube channel. If you happen to watch it on my Youtube channel, please be sure to subscribe so that you will get notified when I upload videos.  Today we played with the new Life is Beautiful stamp set that is in the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog. If you don’t have yours yet, reach out to me and I’ll make sure you get one.

The first card we created us using one of the Summer Nights Add On card bases. I thought it was the perfect background for this stamp set. All of the card bases in the add on pack are 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″

I love the sunset effect between the cardstock and the bubble stamp we used. The tree is stamped in Early Espresso ink and then the bubbles are stamped in Calypso Coral ink and the birdhouse and ground are stamped in Basic Gray ink, stamped off first. I think it gave the perfect shadow look to it. I then stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink, which was the color of the July Paper Pumpkin ink spot. For my bling, I colored my rhinestones with the Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends Marker. I love that we can coordinate our embellishments for our projects!

I love how the colored rhinestones turned out! Very subtle bling. For the inside I just stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss, but in the video I added some of the bubbles to carry the outside of the card to the inside.

This is just too plain for me, which is why I added the bubbles in the video. For card number two, I went for a winter effect. Here are the measurements for the card:

  • Early Espresso cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Balmy Blue cardstock 2 cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″

This is the sample card I created for today. I started by stamping the tree in Early Espresso ink and then added some of the snowflakes with our Whisper White Craft Ink. Normally when you use the craft ink you need to either hit it with the heat gun or let it sit and dry because this ink is a pigment ink that is very sticky. My ink pad is very old and since I couldn’t find my refill, my stamped images dried very quickly. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and then added some Wink of Stella to the “ground” to get an icy effect. I added adhesive to each side of the back of the cardstock and added a piece of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and then added a piece that I tied in a knot. Next I added some rhinestones for bling.

For the inside, I used the second piece of Balmy Blue, stamping the snowflakes in the corner and the sentiment in Early Espresso. I know we normally use Whisper White cardstock for the inside, but I decided to be different today.  🙂

Yesterday afternoon I received one of my Stampin’ Up! orders and my new Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems and Snowflake Splendor Ribbon were in it, so I used that on the card in the video. Here’s how different it looks using those two products instead.

I definitely like this version better! Those gems are stunning in person!! For the third card we created our own background paper using multiple ink pads.

Here are the measurements for the card:

  • Card base in Gorgeous Grape cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Coastal Cabana cardstock 2 cut at 4 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
  • Whisper White cardstock 2 cut at 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

I started by stamping one corner with Pretty Peacock, then layering the inks at a diagonal with Pool Party, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana and ending with Pretty Peacock. When I finished that, I glued this to the Coastal Cabana layer and added some the Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Pack. I then stamped the sentiment by masking the word “beautiful” and inking the “Life is” in Coastal Cabana ink and then repeating that step to stamp the word beautiful in Gorgeous Grape ink underneath it. I punched it out with the Label Me Fancy punch, I glued that to a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock punched with the Label Me Lovely and added it to the card front with dimensionals. Next I punched a little butterfly in Coastal Cabana and added it to the label. Then I sprinkled on some rhinestones.

For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and some more of the bubbles in stamped off Coastal Cabana.

It made me think that this card needs to go to someone suffering from a hangover, so I changed it up in the video by adding the dots down in the corner.  🙂 Just one of the hindsight is 20-20 things I guess!! lol

So what do you think? Isn’t this a fun stamp set? I had created one in fall colors using the leaves, but decided to hold off showing that one. It did turn out really good, so stay tuned for a peek at that one at a later date. Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you would like to purchase any of today’s product, just head over to my online store here. When you shop and use my August Host Code DXTZ3T2A and your order is $50.00 or more, I will send you a brand new embellishment from the new Aug – Dec Mini Catalog.
