Hey everyone! Happy Thursday or Happy Little Friday! lol Ready for another look at the Let It Ride stamp set? I decided to create a fun fold card today. Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Night of Navy cardstock cut at 5 1/2″ x 6 7/8″, scored at 4 1/4″ and 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″
- Garden Impressions DSP cut at 2 3/8″ x 5 1/4″
- So Saffron cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 4″, scored at 3 1/4″
- Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 3″ x 4″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″
This is a simple fun fold, which are my favorite kind. After I cut the card base, I trimmed a piece of the DSP to fit the front panel and glued it on. Next I stamped the horse image in Tuxedo Black ink so I could color it with my Stampin’ Blends Markers. I thought I’d try to create a paint horse today, which are hubby’s favorite. When we first moved to No CA we had horses and decided to breed our mare to a paint stud….twice and only one threw color, barely enough to be legal. 🙂 So, to create this one I decided to use the Bronze Marker for a more chestnut type color, which was the color of our mare. I just randomly added some color and this is how she turned out. Then I colored her hooves with the Dark Smoky Slate Blends Marker and the grass with the Old Olive Combo Makers. I love that our alcohol markers are in just a light and dark color, makes it much easier to color. Then I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and layered it on to the Night of Navy layer, then on to the flap. To create the fold, I adhered the short section of cardstock to the back of the inside layer. Here’s a look at it:
Once that flap was glued on, I stamped the inside sentiment so that you couldn’t see it when the card was closed. I glued that down to the inside and voila! all done! Here’s a look at the inside of the finished card:
Didn’t that turn out cute? If there’s any of these items that you would like to add to your stash, just head over to my online store to shop. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Thursday!
