Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! How is your week going? Today we played with the June 2021 Paper Pumpkin, the Expressions in Color kit. Were you able to watch my Facebook Live? If not, you can watch the replay here on my YouTube Channel. And while you’re there, please be sure to like and share my video and subscribe so you can catch all my videos. This kit is such a pretty kit and even the box is pretty! And it coordinates with the Expressions of Ink Suite from the new Annual Catalog.
I made several alternates, but here is the one we created on during my FB live:
Here are the measurements:
- Evening Evergreen Ombre Gift Bag scored at 3 3/4″ from the bottom
- Evening Evergreen card base from the kit cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
- Green card layer cut at 3 1/4″ x 4″
- Basic White cardstock cut at 2 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
This is such a cute way to include a gift card to someone. I started by scoring the gift bag. I then stamped the flower image from the stamp set included in the kit in Evening Evergreen ink across the top of the bag. Then I folded it at the score line and then folded it in half. I then wrapped some of the Evening Evergreen Twine from the kit around it to secure the bag and then tied it in a bow at the left side of the bag. I stamped one of the labels from the kit, also in Evening Evergreen and added it to the bag with dimensionals. Next I added two of the adorable sequins from the kit. The sequins are the same as the ones in the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack. Next I created the card for the inside of the bag.
I took one of the Evening Evergreen card bases and cut it down to the measurements listed. I then cut down one of the green card layers down and randomly stamped the flower image around the edges and then attached it to the card base. I then cut a scrap of Basic White cardstock to the measurements and stamped the sentiments in Evening Evergreen. I stamped the little twig image, stamping off first and then attached that to the card base and it was done. Easy peasy!!
Isn’t that adorable? Here is a look at another alternate that I created using a Basic White card base. There’s not much change to it as I really loved the look of the original card in the directions, but I thought it would look better on a white card base.
And a look at the inside. I didn’t stamp a sentiment yet.
And a look at the scrap layout I created. This one is my very favorite!!!
Here are the measurements:
- Basic White 12″ x 12″ base
- Blackberry Bliss 12″ x 12″ cut at 11 3/4″ x 11 3/4″
- Card base from kit cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- Photo mats Fresh Freesia cut at 4 1/8″ x 6 1/8″ and Basic White cut at 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″
Wht really amazed me was that the background of the picture of my beautiful oldest daughter is exactly the match of our Fresh Freesia color. I cut my card base apart and added it to the Blackberry Bliss base. I had a die cut in gold foil leftover from a previou project and thought it fit perfectly. To break up all the Fresh Freesia color, I used Basic White for the second layer in my photo mat. After it was all matted, I added it to the layout. I attached the vellum die cut from the Paper Pumpkin kit with a couple Mini Glue Dots from the kit and added the sequins to cover the glue. I had the little outline of gold foil left from the Ephemera Pack so I added that with some liquid glue. Note to self, next time add some to a dauber and then add it to the very thin piece of gold foil…I had a mess on my hands!! lol I stamped my sentiment one of the tags from the kit in Blackberry Bliss ink and added the tag with dimensionals. I sprinkled on some of the sequins and called it done…until I found the base had a rip at the edge. So I trimmed the layer down to 11 3/4″ x 11 3/4″ and added it to the Basic White layer. And actually, it looks much better on the white base. Really tied in the vellum layer! See? No mistakes, just ways to embellish!! lol
