Hey everyone, happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. Today we are playing with the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit, the Sending Good Thoughts Kit. Were you able to catch my Facebook Live this morning? If not, you can watch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here. While you are there, please give my video a thumbs up and if you aren’t a subscriber yet, I would be honored if you subscribed today. Here’s a look at my layout, which is also the inspiration for my alternate card.

Here are the measurements:

  • Basic White cardstock 12″ x 12″
  • Bermuda Bay cardstock 8 1/2″ x 11″
  • Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper 3″ x 7″ and 3″ x 5″
  • Basic Gray cardstock photo mats 4 1/8″ x 6  1/8″

So going with the ocean theme, I instantly thought of some of the photos from our trip to Maui last year. While there, we went on a snorkeling excursion. Since my phone was my camera, I didn’t get any pictures of us actually snorkeling, but a few as we were headed out and then on the way back. One of the photos is the sale as we were on a catamaran. The top picture is one of the coves we stopped in to snorkel and then the bottom picture is a picture of our hotel. It was such a gorgeous place to stay! Back to my layout….I wanted to do some water coloring for this layout. I started with 2 full sheets of the water color paper. First I stamped the images from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set randomly in Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. With the new Embossing Addition Tool Kit that is now available, it makes it really easy! You’ll see me use it in the video. After I heat embossed it, I spritzed it really well with water added a drops of Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay reinkers. It’s a really fun technique, but can be quite messy so be sure to protect your work surface and if you have them, some plastic gloves. Once the water color paper was dry, I sprinkled on some Wink of Stella. It’s takes awhile for this to dry, which is why I only got to one alternate card this time. While it was drying, I stamped the same images on the bottom portion of the Bermuda Bay layer and added it to the base with Stampin’ Seal adhesive. Next I added the two layers of the water color paper. Since the paper is only 7″ in length, I had to add it in two pieces. To cover the seam, I add a piece of the Linen Thread folded in two and attached it with Mini Glue Dots. Then I tied a double bow and added it at the edge with two Mini Glue Dots. I layered on the pictures with Stampin’ Seal. I die cut one of the smaller tags from the Tailor Made Tags for my journaling. It’s hidden behind the sail photo. The title was created with the new Alphabest Bundle, which includes an alphabet stamp set and a label punch. The title is inked in Poppy Parade ink and added with dimensionals. The 3 die cuts from the kit were added with dimensionals. For my bling, I added some of the Faux Sea Glass for my bling. The water coloring was messy, but oh so worth it! Now let’s look at the card.

The card base is from the kit, as is the label and coral die cut. The only layer I added was a piece of that water color paper. Since I had to trim it for my layers on my layout, I had plenty for this card and the one I created on the video. And for my bling, I added some more of the Faux Sea Glass. I think it goes perfectly with this project!

Here’s a look at the inside. Since I was using Pacific Point ink for the both the outside and inside sentiments, it made it very easy to stamp off an image in Bermuda Bay.

Isn’t that a cute kit? With all of the shipping issues everyone has been having, I was shocked that I received mine so quickly. I can’t wait to finish the kit with bottles and add some in from the Bottled Happiness Bundle, especially using the Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes! I was out of them, which is why I didn’t use any for these projects. But wait ’til I get some!!  🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope I was able to inspire you. Before I forget, I mentioned last week that I was 26,901 points and as of today I am at 28,021. When I reach 28,901, I will be randomly picking a name from those that ordered in the last week to earn something sparkly from me. Like I mentioned, I will be choosing someone who orders for every 2,000 points I earn. I have until September 30th to get to 40,000 points. I’ve got a ways to go, but I know I can do it – especially with your help! If you would like to order today and get in on this 2,000 point drawing, just head over to my online store here. Please use Host Code 6AWRFNP6 when ordering. Have a great Thursday!
