Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Today is such an exciting day in the Stampin’ Up! world!! The new 2020/2021 Annual Catalog is available for everyone to shop!!! And what a gorgeous catalog it is!! So many new and beautiful stamp sets and those new In Colors are just too cute! Here’s a look at my catalog that I had bound and added tabs to for easy access. Isn’t it pretty?
Today’s project is created with the new Jar of Flowers stamp/punch bundle. I knew when I saw this set that this was going to be the first one on my pre-order list! I just love Mason jars and had to add this to my stash.
And I am a firm believer that Mason jars were invented to be vases for sunflowers! So I started by stamping my sunflowers image first in Memento ink and then colored them using my Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends. Next I colored the centers with my Soft Suede Blends and the leaves with my Old Olive Blends. Next I colored the sprigs with my Granny Apple Green Blends and then the Petal Pink Blends for the little flower and buds. Then I had the fun of fussy cutting them out. 😛 While not my favorite thing in the world, but sometimes a necessary evil. Next I stamped the stems of the flowers on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and colored them with the Light Old Olive Blends. After I colored the stems, I stamped the jar over the stems in Memento ink and then stamped the water in Seaside Spray ink. This new stamp set is a reversible stamp set, meaning you stamp it for the detailed image on one side, then turn it over and stamp the solid image over your detailed image. It’s definitely a brilliant concept! I then punched out the jar with the coordinating punch and glued the two pieces together. I then cut a piece of the wood grain DSP from the In Good Taste DSP pack with one of the Stitched Rectangles. I love the whole farmhouse look with white lettering on wood grain, so I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Once that was set, I added a piece of the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon and then added it to a Thick Whisper White card base. You might recognize that ribbon as it was from the Holiday Catalog. I am so glad it is back!! I then added my jar of flowers to the card front with dimensionals and sprinkled on some rhinestones.
For the inside I just stamped the flowers in Daffodil Delight ink, stamping off first, making all ready for a sentiment when I know who will be getting this card. When I know who’s getting it, I’ll stamp the appropriate sentiment over the flowers in Memento ink. That should look really pretty with those yellow flowers in the background.
