Hey everyone! I hope your Monday is going well. I’ve been playing with my January Paper Pumpkin kit today and wanted to share one of my alternates I’ve made. Those bees are just so stinking cute!!
Isn’t that cute?!? Here are the measurements for the card:
- Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and the 2 5/8″ x 2 5/8″ stitched square
- Basic Black cardstock cut with the 3″ x 3″ scalloped square
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
This is another one of my “made from all scraps” cards. Don’t you love it when you can use those up? I decided to go with a yellow and black combo for the bees. I stamped the background stamp from the Paper Pumpkin kit on a scrap of Daffodil Delight and cut it out with the stitched square die. I glued that to the scalloped square and then added it to the card base. The actual stamp with the heart outline has the words “with love”, so I masked that portion with tape and then stamped it in Tuxedo Black ink. Then I took the “Let’s Bee Friends” stamp and stamped it in the opening that was left. I then punched it out with the solid heart punch from the Heartfelt Punch Pack. I originally punched a black scalloped heart, but I just didn’t like it, so I punched one in the Vellum cardstock. I thought it tied in the look of the bee wings too by using the vellum. I glued the two together and added it to the card front with dimensionals. Next I took two of the bees from the kit and added them with the Mini Dimensionals that came in the kit and colored the wings with some Wink of Stella. I wanted some bling to add, so I went with some our Rhinestone Basic Jewels and colored two of them with our Dark Black Stampin’ Blends Marker.
For the inside I stamped the bee down in the corner and used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to create a flight trail. I left the sentiment out so that I could add something later.
I think this is a really cute kit and can’t wait to create some more fun cards with it. You still have time to subscribe for the February kit which will be coordinating with that adorable Happy Birthday to You Sale-a-bration stamp set that you can get for FREE when you purchase $50.00 in product.
I love that Stampin’ Up! is coordinating Paper Pumpkin with so many other items! It just adds so much fun to our crafting and helps us use our stash for even more fun!
