Hey everyone! Happy Thursday. I wanted to share a card I made using the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper. I have been working on my March Project to Go samples and needed a break, so I pulled a sheet out to relax for a few minutes. Color was always my very favorite activity as a kid, so no big surprise at how much I love the new trend of adult coloring books. I took a watercoloring class with demo Erica Cerwin, and saw this technique using the new watercolor pencils and fell in love with this card. So since I was trying to save time, I decided to case it. You start by coloring the outline like a shadow, then using one of our aqua painters, you pull the color from the outlines to the center, giving a the center a very light bit of color wash. Like anything new, there is a learning curve and I think my curve is pretty big. lol Now because this paper is thinner than cardstock, you have to be careful not to over saturate it with water. The paper will curl some as it dries, but when you attach it to a mat, it should straighten out some. You can also use a light iron if the curl really bothers you, but I just added extra adhesive when I added the mat.
This card is a simple card to create, just a little time consuming with all the coloring. I wanted to add a pop of color, and since I was already casing this card I used the same colors she did. The fact that yellow and blue are one of my favorite combos was a bonus!
