Happy Monday everyone! Ready for a new Product of the Week? This week we are going to play with the Home to Roost Sale-a-bration stamp set. Such a cute stamp set and this is the first time I’ve pulled it out. Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Bermuda Bay cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Wood Textures DSP cut at 2″ x 5 1/2″
And guess what…this card is another card created with all scraps! Even the piece of burlap ribbon is a scrap. Woo hoo!! I have never been around roosters so I did what anyone does when they want to look something up….Google it!! lol So I found a picture of this gorgeous looking rooster and thought, “I can do that!”. I grabbed a scrap of Very Vanilla and stamped the rooster in Memento ink since I was going to color with my Stampin’ Blends. LOVE those alcohol markers!! I grabbed my markers and followed the colors from the picture. I used Dark Real Red, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Bermuda Bay, Dark Night of Navy and Dark Crumb Cake for the rooster and the ground. For the sky, I used my Light Pool Party. Not too bad if I say so myself! Then I cut him out with the largest square from the Stitched Framelits. I added some Snail adhesive just to the top and bottom of the DSP strip and added it to the card front. By adhering it this way, it left the middle open so I could slip in a strip of the Burlap Ribbon to tie my bow. This was a piece left over from another project that we cut open the ribbon to pull out strips to use as a single piece of twine. This gives it a more rustic look then our Linen Thread. So, I slipped in my twine, tied a bow and added the square with dimensionals. Next I stamped the bottom right corner of the card base in the Memento. And, if you look closely….there’s not bling!! Shocking, I know! lol
