Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Since yesterday was the release day of the beloved Hey Chick stamp et and die bundle, I thought I’d share a quick card with it. Everyone loved this stamp set from the 2017 Sale-a-bration Sale and with the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set in the Jan-June Mini Catalog, they just had to bring back this adorable stamp set and make it better with coordinating dies!!
Here are the measurments for today’s card:
- Card base in Poppy Parade cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black cardstock 2 cut at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
- Basic White cardstock 2 cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
When I received my order with these cuties, I couldn’t believe the extra dies in the pack!! Like a chicken coop!! How could you not build a barnyard scene? Now granted, mine is pretty plain, but I still wanted to share it with you. I pulled out some scraps started creating. I had to cut the coop first and chose a little piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to cut it in. It embosses the cut too, so I sponged on some Crumb Cake ink to bring out all the details.
Next I chose the little wired hair chick, stamped him in Basic Gray ink and then colored him with my Stampin’ Blends Markers. I chose Poppy Parade for his hair, the Light Gray Granite to color some accents on him, Daffodil Delight for his beak and feet. Then I cut him out. These dies fit perfectly with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I took one of the layers of the Basic White and stamped the All Wired Up background stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then took one of my new Blending Brushes and brushed on some Pool Party ink at the top for the sky. Then I took another one and blended on some Crumb Cake ink on the rest of the layer to create the yard. I glued it to one of the Basic Black layers and then both to the card front. I then added the coop and the chick with dimensionals. For the sentiment, I stamped it on a scrap of Basic White and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. To create my mat, I had a 1/2″ scrap of Poppy Parade and glued on the label I just stamped and trimmed the ends to mimick the label punch. Then I just glued it to the card front.
For the inside, I stamped the top sentiment in Tuxedo Black and then the egg in Basic Gray. I colored his fees with my Daffodil Delight Blends. I wanted to stamp the chick like he was peeking in on the inside, so I stamped on the bottom edge in Basic Gray again, and then colored him. I then stamped the second sentiment in Tuxedo Black next to him to make it look like he was saying it. I thought it turned out really cute!
And I stamped the envelope to match the inside of the card. When I colored his hair, I put a scrap of cardstock on the inside of the envelope so the Blends didn’t show on the back side of the envelope if they bled through.
