Hello and Happy CASE-ing Tuesday, and the last one for February! I hope your week is going well. Isn’t that a cute card? I love that we have sketches with all of the measurements – it makes creating so much easier! I decided to play with elements from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit as one of the die cuts actually has an opening that’s almost the size in the sketch.
When I started to get the supplies ready for my take, I was sure this card would make a great shaker card. I did you the card base, layering piece and the wreath die cut from the kit, as well as the two Easter eggs and twine. I added the layering piece with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive and popped out the die and the center. I turned it over and added Tear & Tape adhesive to the back. I trimmed a piece of Window Sheet to 3″ x 4″ and attached it to the Tear & Tape. Next I added some of our Foam Adhesive Strips to create a well and added some of the retired Loose Frosted Dots. I then attached it all the card front. I trimmed a piece of Peach Pie cardstock to the measurements, stamped the sentiment in Shy Shamrock, which is the ink color of the kit and added the strip to the card with dimensionals. I stamped the bunny from the Easter Basket Bundle in Crumb Cake ink and die cut it with the coordinating die. I colored the ear with the Light Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Blends Marker and added it to the card with dimensionals. I tied a bow from the Pretty in Pink twine that was in the kit and added it with a Mini Glue Dot. I stamped the two die cut eggs from the kit and added them with more dimensionals and sprinkled on some of the sequins from the kit.
For the inside I stamped the sentiment from Easter Basket Bundle in Shy Shamrock ink and added one of the die cut flowers at the corner.
And since I created my take with one of the card bases from the Paper Pumpkin kit, I will use one of the envelopes from the kit. They all have the same pattern on the flaps, which is in pink. They are so cute!!
I also created a single scrapbook layout using more of the die cuts from the kit.
Here are the measurements for my layout:
- Base in Lemon Lolly Two-Tone cardstock – 12″ x 12″
- Azure Afternoon Two-Tone cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- Easter Joy Specialty DSP – 8 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ and 2 1/4″ x 12″
This layout came together pretty fast, especially since I was using scraps from my DSP pack. I used the title and the sub-title are from the retired Storybook Life and stamped in Azure Afternoon ink. I used the Nested Essentials to die cut each. My photos will be 3″ x 4″ and the mats are scraps of the Azure Afternoon Two-Tone cardstock. For the die cut Easter basket, eggs and bunny, which are from the Paper Pumpkin kit, I added them together with Mini Glue Dots and then to the basket with more Mini Glue Dots. I didn’t like the way the DSP showed through the basket, so I cut a scrap of white, sponged on some Azure Afternoon ink and then attached it to the back of die cuts. It’s added to the layout with dimensionals. The bow is die cut in Azure Afternoon with the die from the bundle and added with more dimensionals. I then die cut some of the Easter eggs from the DSP and added them to the layout and a few of the Easter Assortment dots. I really love how this layout turned out!!!
