Hello everyone! How is your Monday going? I know we are living in some pretty chaotic times, but you know what? Now we can get a lot of crafting done!!! For all of us that say we never have time to play – it is time to get our craft on!!! So today I want to share a fun fold birthday card. It was one of the projects we would have created at our team meeting over the weekend, but there’s that whole shelter in place thing going on….so I created one as today would have been my mom’s 87th birthday. I know she is partying in heaven with Jesus and my dad!
Here are the measurements for the card:
- Card base in Petal Pink cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 2 1/2″ and 6 1/2″
- Champagne Foil cut at 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
- Please as Punch DSP cut at 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
So I started off with my card base and glued my DSP layer to the top flap. Then I added the foil strip at the edge by gluing it to the backside of the flap. I then tied a piece of the Petal Pink Metallic Edged Ribbon around the flap into a bow at the left. Now my piece of DSP was only 2 inches wide, but the ribbon not only covers the gap, but also hides the seam of the foil on the backside too. Win-win! Next I stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the solid heart punch. Next I punched one of the hearts from the Pleased as Punch DSP and 2 scalloped hearts in Petal Pink cardstock. I glued them all together and added them to the flap just above the ribbon. Because the hearts hang over the opening, you want to add dimensionals just to the top half of the hearts. Then I added 2 of the Champagne Rhinestones.
For the inside, the bottom layer folds up to be able to put in a gift card. I chose to stamp the sentiment, also in Petal Pink ink. I think my ink pad needs to have some ink added to it though!!
I think my mom would have really liked this card. It is even in one of her favorite colors too. I hope you enjoyed today’s project. If you would like to purchase any of today’s items, just head over to my online store. The rhinestones and ribbon have been backordered for quite awhile, but should be back in stock later this week.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you’re staying safe and can play with your stash while we’re all in this stay at home time. Be sure to come back for another CASE-ing Tuesday project. Take care!
